Judging from the HL logo on the court he is shown practicing at......... UIC - how ironic.

Given the depth The Suns have at the 4, and the youth associated with those guys, my guess is Alec will be traded.  Chicago would be a great landing spot!

"Everybody's got a role on this team and mine right now just happens to be a guy who's going to use his voice — though I can't be out there on the court — to vocally help guys as much as I can.

"Whatever (Triano) needs from me or our team needs from me to win, that's what I'm going to do."

Back in college, the Crusaders needed much from Peters and got it — a 17.5 career scoring average for 134 games, including 23 points and 10.1 rebounds his senior year.

"It's an adjustment," he said. "You got to pay your dues, wait your time, and when you get an opportunity, be ready.

"Nobody is ever truly 'ready' for the NBA. Like anybody else, you have to learn, you have to grow, and continue to get better because everybody in this league is the best in the world."

Peters credited former VU coach Bryce Drew and assistant Roger Powell for preparing him for that difficult climb onto the big stage.

"They always said keep your head down and keep working; make sure you're extra focused on what you're doing because nothing is promised you," Peters said.

Ulis, a high second-round pick in 2016, believes the Suns will be playoff bound in a few more seasons, maybe sooner.

"We're such a young team, we're just trying to get used to each other," he said before tip-off. "They want me to get a little more aggressive, have better control of my game in getting T.J. (Warren), Kevin (Booker) and those guys their shots.

You think the Mavs suck. The Bulls lost to the Pacers by 2 tonight after leading the whole game till the last minute.

Bulls have now won three in a row and are starting to change the narrative with Mirotic and Portis having seemed to settle their issues. Those two have really turned the Bulls

Hopefully fun for Alec to play with Isaiah Canaan.

Mid-major power!

They coasted to a win last night, with the starters (including those two) playing somewhat limited minutes. Alec 3-6 from 3 with a bunch of rebounds. Canaan 3-4 from 3 with a bunch of assists (and a fair number of turnovers).

Alec is still lighting up the scoreboard with 31 points & 11 rebounds last night:

What is Priority Sports?

That is who represents Alec. It's a big sports agency.

Great interview!  It is nice to see that Alec is still the same Alec we knew at Valpo...a class act all the way.

From the PJ Star

Quote
There have been times where it's been midnight the night before the game and they said, 'We need you to come meet the team plane in an hour and you need to fly to L.A. with the team,'" said Peters, who has spent 13 games with Phoenix and played in five.

Crazy.

Trying to understand the NBA two way contract.....I found the following:

Here are the specific details for the new two-way contract:
•They will act as a 16th and 17th roster spot for NBA teams beginning next season (2017-18).
•The player can spend up to 45 days with the NBA team that signs him, although no time is guaranteed.
•The rest of the player's contract must be spent in the G-League, either for the team's affiliate or another's if the team he signs with doesn't have a G-League affiliate yet. For the 2017-18 season, the G-League will represent 26 of the NBA's 30 teams.
•The player's pay comes on a tiered salary system, which can last one or two seasons. While in the G-League, the player will make $75,000. It's a significant increase from the current pay structure for G-Leaguers, who cannot make more than $26,000 with a one-way G-League deal.
•When in the NBA, a player with a two-way contract will accrue a day of service and make money consistent with an NBA rookie minimum, which is about $816,000 next season. If a player spends 45 days in the NBA, he could make around $204,000.
•In total, a two-way player who spends the maximum amount of time in the NBA would make $279,000.

Once you reach 45 days I guess you are either signed to an NBA contract, relegated back to the G League or released. Here is an article about Mike James who was on a two way with the Suns.

Alec has been up with Phoenix for awhile, does anyone know how close he is to 45 days?

His web page shows he has been up for 53 games which is more than allowed.
If you count just the games in which he played the number is 8.

That is the entire season whether he was there or not. But using that I would estimate he is only at 25 days or so.

I don't know of any site that makes it easy to track this. From the box scores (NAZ Suns and Phoenix Suns) I think it's usually clear whether he was on the bench, playing or not.

But, all the contract language seems to be about _days_ rather than _games_. I assume, but don't know for sure, that a practice day counts. Seems like he's been spending a lot of time lately up with the team, and even on the bench, but not playing. If all that's true, it seems like he's going to run out of eligibility here at some point.

Who knows. Maybe it's a sign that they're willing to pay him some decent fraction of the NBA Rookie Minimum, but prefer to save some money by having him spend _some_ time in the G league. Or were worried that the time could come when there wasn't space on the bench for him, so they wanted the G league as a place they could stockpile/develop him. *shrug*

Alec pulled down a rebound in his one minute of play vs. the Lakers last night.   That projects to 48 rebounds per game.     :)
