When I worked at BMP, the Head of Television commuted in from
Brighton every day.
He started reading The Exorcist on the train.
He said he thought it was the most evil book he'd ever read.
In fact, he said it was so evil he couldn't finish it.
So, at the weekend, he went to the end of Brighton pier and threw
it as far as he could.
So I went to the bookshop.
I bought another copy.
Then I ran it under the tap.
And left it in his desk drawer.
For him to find.

A relative of mine worked at the kitchen at Lutheran Hospital in St Louis during the 1960's. She said that a co-worker of hers quit her job at the kitchen of a near by catholic hospital where a boy was supposedly possessed and treated in the psychiatric ward in the 1940's. My relative never believed her co-worker but that co-worker said that wing of the hospital was definitely full of spirits due to all the very strange things that happened in that part of the hospital. She said she heard voices, the temperature changed, writing would show up on the walls and then disappear. It sure gave me the willies when I was younger.
