What the hell is going on with universities these days? We have "trigger warnings," "micro aggression," "safe spaces," and other such nonsense. Has this insanity reached the halls of VU? I sure hope not.

Yes, all three of these are present at Valparaiso as well. VU is not immune to the PC influence witnessed at other universities.

Great article.  So "America is the land of opportunity" is a microagression?  Argh!!

The college students of today are nothing more the products of an overprotective parenting culture.  It's not an all-inclusive thing, but there are sufficient numbers of parents who helped make it so.  Helicopter parents virtually sleeping in their daughter's or son's dorm room to make sure everything was just right.  Parents interceding for their high school or college age children at the slightest hint that their little ones might have to make tough decisions on their own.  Never letting children experience failure because it would make them feel bad (not sure if the 'them' are the parents or the child BTW) -- see the James Harrison rant:  http://www.newsmax.com/RichLowry/Participation-Trophies-teach-Kids-Harrison/2015/08/18/id/670617/ .  Proportionally, the number of drivers licenses among 16-18 year olds has actually gone DOWN over the last decade because the parents provide chauffeur service -- why go through the hassle of earning the money to support a car?

Jeez, pretty soon Time Out will be child abuse.

Apparently the madness continues even in light of recent events. The University of Minnesota is saying no to a 9/11 ceremony because some students might get offended. Story on O'Reilly in a few minutes.
