Spending $70 Million on a high school football stadium might be the biggest waste of "education" funds I've ever heard of.  At the same time, if it was approved by the local taxpayers, I guess it's their business how they spend their own money.

Texas has a huge surplus in our budget, due to the large success of luring business to the state in the last few decades.  We are kicking California's @$$, in taking many of their companies :).  Why not build a few monuments with these victories? ;)

I've actually been to McKinney a few times. It is by far one of the fastest growing communities in the country. McKinney went from having one high school to having 4 high schools in a matter of approximately 10 years. The community is simply catching up with their school expansions. Currently they have 2 football fields for 4 high schools. They are adding one football field for 3 high schools and changing the old football field to a junior high facility.

McKinney is nothing compared to Frisco, the fastest growing city in Texas.  My granddaughter is going to a high school which is in its second year of existance and they are adding another new one this year.  There are 55,000 students in Frisco and they have nine high schools.  They have a policy of not letting a high school have more then 2500 students as opposed to Allen, where there is the 18,000 seat football field, which has one high school with an enrollment of 5,000
