Northwestern looking at first ever bid to The Dance

The wildcats are on the verge of getting a NCAA bid.  Brackets have them somewhere around a 9 seed with a 20-8 record.  Nice article on the team and coach Chris Collins and how there dug themselves out of consistent futility starting when he got there 4 years ago.  Some lessons in there (and new facilities are not among them   ;)  )

Northwestern is spending a bundle in renovating McGaw(spell?)Hall this coming off-season.  That venue is bad!

Yeah, the consistent improvement over the 4 years has a lot to do with going forward.  That did not help Collins these past few years however.  He did manage to attract some quality players despite, as you say, a bad venue.  And this is coming from someone (me) who is a facilities bigot   ;D
