I picked this up from the StlCardinals website but it very much pertains to Arch Madness this coming March. The weather could do anything in St Louis is March but there is plenty to do in downtown St Louis. I'm still waiting for the announcement of StlVuFan's alumni/friends gathering.  ;)

I might suggest the Cherokee Street area for a less expensive hotel or bar. When I was young my grandmother used to make me go her with to shop on Cherokee Street. It was crowded and hot in summer and there were lots of cheap clothes for a member of a large family where the kids were always growing.

It's south of downtown St Louis and has changed a lot. There are bars, a micro brewery district, close to Anheuser Busch, you might even hear a German immigrant talk about his brewing ambitions. :-) It's not far the river, not far from downtown, not far from the suburbs, and a natural place to feel you're at home.

Funny joke, you tell.  Not one of my talents, I'm afraid (Organizing).

Besides, I'll probably be spending all day at the arena watching basketball anyway (and I'll probably work on Thursday since those games are probably in the evening).

Scottrade Center getting makeover.

When Scottrade reopens, event patrons will notice other visible improvements, including a section of new "theater boxes."

The theater boxes offer a new seating option, complete with food, cocktails and a luxury view. The boxes are more flexible than traditional boxes, offering more open seating for groups of two to eight people. Rodrigo said the boxes were an effort to provide something innovative.

A new outdoor biergarten, planned for a later phase, will not be limited to event ticket-holders. Situated outside the arena on Clark Street, the space will serve food and drinks year-round.
