Need to regroup and put the disappointment behind us. Jimmy has to shake off the bad game.

Butler's offense looked pretty bad yesterday. Two TDs were pick 6's. Butler will need to score a lot more vs Valpo to even be in the game.

With that said, Butler's defense has played pretty well which will be a challenge for Valpo's offense. One thing watching the game live is the separation the Valpo WRs have on the DBs. There's not a ton of tight windows the QB is forced to throw into.

Is their an alumni event happening in conjunction with the game? Two years ago there was a great alumni tailgating event and since my daughter and her husband live about 2 blocks from Butler we're thinking of going to the game.

I guess there must not be anything going on for alumni at the Butler game.... Too bad, we had a great time two years ago.

I just emailed MLB on that.  Hopefully they will be able to cobble together something quick.  I really enjoyed the 2015 tailgate and although I can't make it this year I hope something is pulled together AND PROMOTED(!).

VULB#62

I got MLB's reply -- Hope he doesn't mind me quoting him.

Events like the tailgate at the 2015 Butler game are coordinated by the Alumni Association.   There will not be one this year for a couple of reasons.  The Alumni Association is putting all of their efforts this year into events around basketball and the transition to the MVC.  There will be events connected with many of those road games, the MVC tournament in St Louis, and the tournament in Savannah.

I replied to him that I hoped in the future the Butler away game will be a permanent fixture on the alumni calendar.

Trophy game.  Many area alumni.  Why don't we skip this game, as we'll be back during MVC Basketball season.

I wanted to be at this game so badly but I will be out of town the 10-11-12 weekend. Such a shame. Go Valpo! Blow up the Bulldogs! Would love to hear that Valpo won 49-31.

Does this quote have something to do with the actor, Tommy Lee Jones?

Tommy Lee Jones played offensive guard on Harvard's undefeated 1968 varsity football team, was nominated as a first-team All-Ivy League selection, and played in the 1968 Game, which featured a memorable and literally last-minute Harvard 16-point comeback to tie Yale. He recounts his memory of "the most famous football game in Ivy League history" in the documentary Harvard Beats Yale 29-29.

DING DING DING... WE HAVE A WINNER...   although, I'm old enough to actually remember the story when it happened.  My dad was usher at Princeton University games for 20 years while I was growing up... living and breathing Ivy League stuff...

JD24

Valpo fairly comfortably. 30-16.

Supposedly on Facebook Live but I can't find it. I've seen their games before on FB Live so I don't know if this is a problem particular to today or plans changed since it was advertised as being available.

Agreed.  I can't figure it out and now the live stats are down.  Valpo, 17-3 near the end of the 1st.

FB post says they are having connectivity problems.

Livestats is down and Todd's broadcast is also in and out. Somebody not pay a bill in Indiana?
