Vashil has been playing with the Greensboro Swarm over the last 2 weeks, which is tied to the Hornets.  He has played in 4 games during that time.

Nice! Played a few minutes a game (up to seven) for those four games, the last of their season. I don't see a press release or anything from them.

E Vic got minutes on Feb 25, March 1, and April 1 for the Mad Ants.

When I was watching LBJ and Durant the other night, I thought these two are 6'8 and 6'10 respectively playing like guards.

E. Victor was a 6'8 guard for us.  Very rare in college.  Will Valpo ever have a 6"8 guard again?  E. Victor was a top 10 Valpo favorite for me.  He seemed like a great teammate during his redshirt year.  He overcame several surgeries.

E was great.

Never say never. 6'8" guys with athleticism and skills are very very rare.

Interestingly Coach Lottich said he doesn't even know what position Mileek McMillan is going to play. He said he may play some 4 & 5 and maybe some 3 (if he develops his skill set). Seems like you'd only want to use Mileek at the 5 if the other bigs were in foul trouble. He play out of position his senior year.

41:57 if you want to listen Coach Lottich's thoughts on him.

Height: 6'8"/Wingspan: 7'2" & and guard a guard & versatile.

Mileek is a kid who moves really well for a guy who is 6'8". He had that late growth spurt so he has some ball handling skills and he can step back and hit a 3 also.

I have chosen to stick this here instead of starting a "Believe IT Or Not" thread. Anyway Jerry Hoover now rumored to have taken another coaching job this time at Blackford.

Ho Hum,  :snore: so what- you say?  Well the gentleman is now 82 years old and if he hasn't held a HS or College coaching job near you then you are probably just too young to remember him having been there. I am not sure that anybody has covered this state like he has.  If we had $100.00 for every gym he has coached in we could probably renovate the ARC with money to spare.

Me- I am just glad that he is still in the game.

It doesn't surprise me that Shane is getting workouts.  I said during the season that he was getting exposure to NBA scouts because of Alec (similar to Tevonn), who had to notice his athleticism.  His 3-pt shot improved steadily in the second half of the season, and he can get to the basket.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him on a D-League roster next season.

This really is an impressive number over a long period. I wonder how many programs of similar size and stature can match this.

Huh, does homer and Bruce know that Hawkins coaches at bosco? Same organization that lost us skara?

Yeah. You can't blame Hawkins for that mess.

It wasn't his decision to try and strong-arm Valpo. It was Maravilla who was calling the shots and making the demands.

A interesting question.

In my time as a fan I'd say:

-Matt Kenney (Broekhoff era)
-Tommy Kurth may have been that guy if he didn't deal with the injuries. Tommy was the leader of those teams on & off the court & was really intense.
-Nick Davidson (Alec Peters era)

Prediction for this current era: John Kiser

I tend to agree with chef that 'cult hero' and 'underappreciated' are different.

Harry Bell (great player, bad era)
Greg Tonagel

Watching HGTV with my wife this morning and it was good to find former assistant coach Will Phipps with his wife and daughters buying and renovating a house in Waco on Chip and Joanna Gaines' Fixer Upper. Will, a Texas native who attended Baylor as a student, apparently is Executive Director and President of the Greater Waco Sports Commission. The episode will be rerun Sept. 4 & Sept. 13, or if you have On Demand I guess you can watch it anytime.

Great call on Harry Bell.

Vashil definitely fits the bill, as well, though I don't know if he was underappreciated.

I don't think Zoran Viskovic was appreciated as much as he should have been, but the cult favorite on that era's team was definitely Marko Punda.
