Cole is very impressive!  I don't think he missed a shot during the entire video!   ;)

Speaking of video editing, back in the day it would have taken a video editor a week to find enough "highlights" from my junior season, and I would have had to pay double time just to compensate for the boredom. Therein lies the difference between Evan Cole and a guy who went on to become a fairly good college intramural player.😊

Looks like Valpo might be checking out another Canadian guard.

Shakwon Barrett (G – 2017 | Grassroots)
"Shakwon had a solid weekend as this smart, high IQ guard led his Grassroots team. He can easily pick apart any defence, and has the ability to go to the rim and finish with either hand. He always is making the right basketball play! Moving forward, with added aggression and improvement on his jumper, Barrett will elevate his game to the next level."

Jimmy Chitwood never missed a shot during the outside shooting scene, until Coach Dale hit the punchline. Ironically, I heard somewhere that he actually did hit all those shots on the first take.

Got to like the name of the new 3.5-star recruit Valpo has offered: Goanar Mar

Unfortunately, Goanar is a goner. He has committed to George Mason.

Any truth to the rumor that this player will only choose a school with blue in their colors:

We need to make a push to getting Nana Akenten. If we don't, he will be out of our reaches pretty soon.

Joe Burton tweets he is leaving OKlahoma St and coming to Valpo. Looks like a sit 1 play 2 transfer.

Holy crap!  This kid is a four star and was ranked 59th in his class by ESPN coming out of high school.  I guess Matt can do some recruiting!!!!

What position does he play at VU? Does this sour Hazen?  Can we move him to SG with his 3-Pt prowess and athleticism?

ValpoHoops

The college game is increasingly moving towards having a point, 2 wings, a stretch and a big (with sometimes a third wing replacing one of the big players, if the defensive end of the floor works out).

It remains to be seen what style and sister Matt will run. But many don't really require positions anymore, just five dudes who can play.

There will be plenty of room for guys if they earn it.

wh

Joe Burton is described as a swingman (plays both 2 and 3).  Think Kobe Bryant or Manu Ginobili-type players.  Hazen is more of a stretch 4 (both 3 and 4).  The 2 should complement each other beautifully.  I have a feeling we're going to be in love with Joe Burton in about 16 months. ;)

Is it accurate/fair to say, in the xfer game, that Valpo came out way on top in swapping David for Joe?

M

Can't say that without the guy even playing a single minute for our team.

This is good and this is bad. Yes he should help our future but we will now face the upcoming season with only 10 eligible scholarship players. Ouch!

Looks like a great opportunity for Max, Lexus and Nick to add big time minutes. Chandler and John Kiser (the Noblesville walk-on) should also get their chances.
