Not sure if encouraged that we are good or discouraged that our conference SOS won't be.

Seriously, teams 4-10 in the HL need to start picking it up. I know it's early yet, but a couple of big nonconference wins by our HL opponents can help us out substantially.

BTW, Cleveland State has scheduled a number of games this year at the Q, home of the Cavs, including the Valpo tilt.  Not sure why they are doing that because 1000 people will look a lot smaller in that arena, plus it's a good walk for students to get there.  Plus side is lots more restaurant choices.  Guess trying to help recruiting by being able to say you get to play where Lebron has trod.  Also watched NKU last night versus X (for a few minutes anyway).  NKU's Geisler is decent and they have decent size, but speed, depth and defense make their 300 sagarin ranking legitimate.  Again, why would we let them in the conference?  Another huge drag on conference ratings.

It's too bad - their soccer teams looked good.

Twitter made it sound like a three-pointer that would have sent it to overtime was waved off at the buzzer.

These are with players recruited to play against ASUN competition while not being post-season eligible. They have 5 commits coming in next year including two 3-star recruits. The Horizon admitted NKU for their long term potential, not for an immediate boost. They have as good of class as any Horizon team coming in, and Brannen seems like a good recruiter.

...and they may have the nicest venue in the league.  I only say this for its recruiting potential. Plus that venue might attract top flight OOC opponents to visit (also a recruiting advantage).

It would be good to see pre-HL attendance figures.  It would even better to see local citizen support figures.  Posters have bemoaned our less than fanatical local support

Good to know about NKU. Unfortunately, the only HL programs that appear to be on the rise right now are its 3 newest members - Valpo, Oakland and NKU.

I see I missed one game...
Minnesota 74 Missouri State 69 at the Puerto Rico shootout

Delaware at Iona
Detroit at Pittsburgh  (Pitt 46-41 at the half, the UDM's Anton Wilson having 20 pts, 4/5 3ptrs)

hode Isaland v. TCU in a Mexican tourney.  Rhody is up 3 in the second half.  If someone we beat beats a power 5 team does that count for us??

I like my MBA alma mater, but they are terrible at basketball.  Beating TCU in basketball is not saying anything :)

Oakland and Milwaukee don't play defense.  So much for the RPI of the Horizon League.
