Isn't English grand?  Here I meant re-sign, of course.  Maybe you rarely "sign" for the same type of positions you "resign" from.

Rowdy turned down a Russian team:

Just across the sea from Istanbul, it seems.

The locomotives.  That could be a decent theme for an athletic team... Crossroads of America and all that.  Maybe Purdue's already got it sown up.

Former Valpo player Ron Howard and the Alumni Ants are in the final four of The Tournament for a $1 million. They won last night and it was fun seeing Ron advance the team on the "bracket board." They play August 1 in the semis in NYC (Fordham). Interesting tourney format -- alumni of various schools or guys putting together teams (like ND alums, Syracuse alums). Maybe in the future we will have a Valpo team.

I watched the game, and Howard sealed the victory with four free throws in the closing minute. Also, it was interesting to see they used familiar officials that usually are assigned Horizon League games during the season.

Former mid major star Nate Wolters just signed with Rowdy's team - should be a pretty good team this year.

Wow, that's a lot of scoring. That should definitely open things up for Rowdy on Wolters' dribble drives.

Nice place to live! One of the coolest public playgrounds I've ever seen.

I always wondered what happened to him after he transferred.  I thought he was good but maybe didn't fit in at valpo.

Looks like Ron Howard has made Fort Wayne a family base of operations.  Kids must be attending school here while he plays in various places.  Nice article and video of hiim being principal for a day here in FW.

I might have missed it, but did anyone else notice that E Victor Nickerson is on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants?

Yup, he was also in the ARC tonight.

E will be a guest on Union Street Hoops for a bit this coming week.

Today is final cut day in the D League. Fort Wayne opened camp with 15 players. They have cut 2 so far but apparently only carry 10 into the season.  E Victor is among the 13 remaining. Looking at their roster he is a long shot but keeping my fingers crossed.

Jay Harris was cut recently by the Delaware 87ers (yes they are a 76ers affiliate).

they cut another... he's in the final 12.

E. Victor is on the final roster in one of the 2 inactive slots.  D-League rosters are very fluid with call ups and players getting other contracts, he will be come active when other slots become available and will continue to practice with the team.

Complicated! Hopefully practice is good for his development, and he gets on the floor sometime soon.
