Nope good win. Let’s stack another with Butler. Really enjoy listening to Andy Waddle the person. My apologies it was 24-0 shortly after half. Great win and Fight today. Hoping engine can get going for him.

In terms of Massey been using it on this forum for 10 years. Glad you kept the faith

  • well said 16. Progress is…progress!

I watched the post-game and was reminded that character-building is as important as W-L for this university, and I'm good with that. You could tell that it was a very emotional win, not only because of the incredible comeback, but also because of the resilience they all needed to come back to practice week after week after losing, often by big scores.

If this is a turning point for Rowan Keefe, then maybe he's back next year? Let's see what happens against Butler. In any event, that last drive in regulation was of all-conference, player of the year caliber. This was not the guy who has thrown 14 picks. In 49 seconds, he led the drive across the length of the field. For all that he's gone through this year, he will always have what he did in this game.

Rowan played that last drive perfect. Obviously in college football you want experience over talent if talent is close. Rowan is 1-15 as a starter now I believe.

Would it be welcome to have him back as a leader? Yes absolutely. Would you guarantee a starting position based on a comeback win against Massey 248? I’m not so sure. We came back in a similar fashion against Davidson, Caron was shown the bench, Landon was shown the door. rosters have been averaging about 40-45 player turnover. Will do a post Mortem where we dive in positionally. If I was a betting man, I’d say Ricketti, Long, Hayes are the ball carriers we can bank will be on the field every/most downs on offense next season.

Now if this stacks and Rowan performs very well against the Bulldogs in a win Saturday that changes perspective quite a bit

To be honest, when I watched the stat cast during the final drive, at first I was half expecting an update reporting a turnover on loss on downs or an interception, or time running out. But even online, I could sense the energy shifting and picture VU zipping down the field.

As for Keefe, for guy with an 0-15 record as a starter to play a 4th quarter like that -- even against a weak opponent -- says something about his character and suggests a higher ceiling than we might've imagined. I just saw that he got Pioneer League offense player of the week. Good for him.

VU doesn't have to contend for the league championship every year, but it needs to be respectable, and to provide the good kids who come to play here with an overall positive experience. It's no fun taking a beating every game. Instead, look at the team pic in front of the Victory Bell. That's a genuinely happy bunch of young men, simply celebrating the moment.

I'm getting ahead of things, but if Keefe helps to beat Butler next week, then maybe the Stetson game will be seen as the turning point for him and for the program.

So I obviously have too much time on my hands but nonetheless decided to look at the two deep for week one v. last week.  We've heard lots about injuries and this might serve to illustrate this issue or not.  So of the 44 on the opening game list, 17 were not on the two deep for the Stetson game.   Take it for what you would like.

How about Welsh and Mackay at WR, Gundy, Mansaray and Simmons at RB. Or Marley at LB? Pretty sure they are injured but at least not on the 2 deeps.

Simmons plays he’s just RB3. Welsh is back, Carter is over him. Mackay,Gundy , Markley correct but they all played until game 10. From what I’ve heard on Mansaray there’s a push for a 7th season by the player. Need to be under a certain % of snap count or 4 games
