@burnee77 I do think attendance will be up, it should be. I’m expecting a competitive non conference game on a cold Saturday. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
Another thing of note is that the NET rankings have UNCW as 99 and Valpo as 222. The fact that this is projected to be a 70-66 win is suprising. A win here would look better than the Marquette game whom is 169 in NET. Real shot at redemption for the faceplant in Milwalkee
Doing a quick search it seems most think the NET has flaws but is better than RPI. That said how is Valpo 222 after the Marquette game? Bad USI game dragging them down?
I would have a hard time believing that 222 is accurate. Granted in MVC UIC and Evansville are below Valpo. BUT both Bradley (145) and ISU Ind (203) havent looked great at all and are rated higher.
Guess it comes down to big wins, close with Marquette evidently didnt do squat. Maybe that big win comes tomorrow? I will be in a layover, downloaded the ESPN app so I can watch!
Marquette is at 168 and behind 7 MVC schools. It's just not a good program this season and I think the "moral victory" Valpo gained in their game wasn't one. Throw on top of that the horrendous loss to USI and there's really no reason Valpo should be any higher.
@jd24 Regardless of Marquette's ranking in the NET, they are still a P5 program. No matter how bad a team at that level may be. Going into their house and putting up a good fight is something of merit.

As good a fight as it would be for one of the top 6 or 7 teams in the MVC. No more. No less. Too many are reading Marquette as if Butch Lee and Maurice Lucas, amongst a host of others, are checking in. Marquette was awful, much of it self inflicted, and Valpo should have won the game but didn't. Then they proceeded to go out and lay a complete egg against a team that you'd think Valpo would handle pretty easily. There's not much to indicate any higher rating is merited at this point.
Didnt know UFC was in town...
Valpo 40 UFC-Wilmington(Sorry PO) 31 at the half
The chair back attendance is awful. Overall looks like a decent crowd for 13 degrees. I’m guessing 1700.

Chairbacks are double the price. I can understand not wanting to purchase a chairback seat.
This officiating is exhausting. No flow in this game.
Why does Powell delegate his head coaching to someone else during timeouts?
We can play a good team close. Just cannot get out of our own way.
Holy ref ball on this one. Almost all contact was a foul. Its really hard to build off of momentum when there is a whistle blown every 10 seconds because you breathed on a guy wrong
If a head coach never draws plays, that’s an outlier, not “usually.”
At high-level programs, the plays that matter most are drawn or at least owned by the head coach.

You'll never guess who owns the plays in the valpo play book...
