Bargy seems like a very good get. I drive by their big time stadium all the time. Grapevine plays big school football.
Technically, Grapevine has been terrible over the last 2 seasons, but yes, usually a solid area to recruit athletes. I am a bit biased, however, having grown up in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD and still living here on the Colleyville side. In the last few years, we have produced Bobby Witt Jr, Maxx Crosby, Matt Fry, previously Christian Ponder, Post Malone, Norah Jones, etc etc.

Does the pace of commitments seem a little quick or is this a fairly normal timetable? Also seems like the kids are good sized coming in.

I think the transfer periods and length of them have changed. valpofb16 would likely be a great source for an answer to that point.
I would agree that it is going faster this year. There is a few reasons I can conclude. A major one is that Valpo is having official visits during the week, which typically in the past have been Fri-Sun weekend visits.
The next being the overall volume that needs filled. I have 66 returning players meaning about 50 freshman, spots need filled.
Last are timely offers. Recruits have X amount of time to commit before the staff is moving targets. This is probably due to having to fill half the roster in a timely manner and also knowing their state of the Union by the January 2nd portal opening

I may be wrong here (somehow it’s happened before!) but it seems like the recruits we’re getting are just a little on the lower gpa level. Witness Tye. The kid is a rocket but carries a 3.0 gpa. Can that cut it at Valpo or are we setting ourselves up for a revolving door due to academics?
