Valpo 74 Bradley 65
A winning MVC season is close at hand. Arch Madness, here we come!
@sp37 Where are you getting 8? On espn's official schedule they list 31 games as starting at 6PM or earlier....
@rezynezy only if you are in central time, most of those 6:00 games you are talking about are 7pm Eastern starts
Roger Powell Jr. Take a bow. This program is finally showing the signs of really turning around. Just phenomenal.
Oh and I have no beef with any MVC team except Bradley. So these wins are extra sweet.
This win definitely fits the "gritty" definition. Win 2 out of the final 3 and Valpo has a winning conference record. Win all 3 and likely a bye in the tournament.
Another win. This team wins out the rest of the year. Playing with a lot of confidence and believing. Except for the free throws and not guarding their top shooter. A good team effort, contributions from several. JT played strong and not 100% Difference was again the free throw attempts and good assists to turnover ratio. Bradley had way more than their normal turnovers. The all hustle team. Servillus. A good sign of tight locker room, those with limited minutes play hard/hustle. Negative......terrible home crowd turnout. I don't get it? Lets win out the regular season!
Brody (D2) Whittaker picked their best 3 point shooter apart. D2 isn't my words, but the words of the fine folks at the Bradley forum
And we did it with Lombardi out! Fantastic win! Now need some help fresh Murray!
This was JT's "Willis Reed game"; I was at the original!
Interesting we controlled this thing with Dease only attempting 3 shots, A testament to our roster. Getting dangerous. Id like to avoid Belmont and UNI for long as possible in St louis other than that lessgo!

This!!! Incredible what a change we are seeing in the program in 3 years. This program was an absolute mess when Powell took the job. Much more so than many know. The academic issues, the low 5 figure NIL budget, next to no roster. In this college environment where natural growth through retaining players is non-existent, to have a 3 year trajectory like this is pretty incredible. Especially with the hurdles that Valpo provides essentially daily. Just amazing work.
And I agree with ValpoDad. As I said in a previous post, I would rather have the 6 or 7 seed and an extra game if that means Belmont, Murray, and UNI are on the other side. Give me Evansville, and any of UIC, Bradley, IL State to get to the finals and I’ll take my chances. Seems much better than fighting for a 5 seed to play UNI or Murray right away only to get Belmont. Lots of games left, let’s see how this plays out.
It took 3 season for Valpo to return to decent form. And the students are unmatched in intensity. Wardle was jaw jacking with them during the game
Bradley forum.......
Bradley drops to 18-10, and 11-6 in the MVC.
Official box score- https://valpoathletics.com/sports/mens-basketball/stats/2025-26/bradley/boxscore/10743
Attendance- 1,636 and it seems like a big portion of them were students.
Where are all the other Valpo fans? Troubling to see them draw so few fans with a good team.
Beating Bradley is a great feeling! It was a good drive home! Smiles all the way around!
That was fun last night! With everyone right in front of us winning, it looks like it will take a 12-8 record to have chance at the 5th seed. Tough game at UIC this weekend, but we can do it. Let’s win out and see what happens.
