Well, Arch Madness has finally arrived. As we all know by now, Valpo is the 7 seed and will take on Indiana State on Thursday. If they win, they’ll advance to face Bradley.
The good news is that Valpo has been playing some of the best basketball in the Valley over the last eight games. The tough part is missing out on a bye spot after AJ Casey hit that three-pointer on Saturday.
Still, we’ve beaten every team on our side of the bracket, so a run all the way to the championship game shouldn’t surprise anyone who knows this team’s potential.
I’m heading out this evening toward St. Louis, hoping something special is in store for this Valparaiso squad. I know I plan on meeting up with a few of you while I’m there, so feel free to post below if you’ll be attending. You can also find me in the Valpo section of the Enterprise Center.
What are your thoughts on Arch Madness this year—and any thoughts on postseason awards?
I have only watched tidbits all year on ESPN streaming. They seem to have decent depth. They took Belmont to the wire and don't seem to have been overmatched by any teams. Could be interesting.
Brian Ill see you tomorrow and Im bringing my daughter the rabbits foot to get this W!!
Team has proven they are competitive with every team in the valley, Team has also proven they can't extend leads and win going away. Unknown the cause, but my hunch says they are pretty motivated after that crushing defeat in the Ford Center. They have had five six days to think about it. I don't know, Valpo by 14 tonight. We seem to match up better versus Sycamores than the Aces
Good news is that this lot can challenge for the tournament win. They have that ability.
Bad news is they can let anyone they play hang around long enough to win a game that Valpo should win. They have that ability as well.
Let's hope for the best.
