So as of this moment--10:50am central, 4/8, here is the transfer situation for the conference:
Leading the pack! Indiana state with 9! Followed closely by Evansville with 8! then a tie for 3rd with 5 at Belmont, UIC, Bradley, N. Iowa, then comes a bunch at 4 including us, Murray, Drake, and S. Illinois. The leader at this point is Illinois State with only 2!

With all of the player movement in the MVC, I sure wish we would hear of some signings for us, whether from "The Valley" or outside of it. I am feeling optimistic about next season and getting anxious to see what the roster will look like.
It will take some time before we start hearing about signings. The portal has been open for 3 days, and players can still enter for a while longer. Players need to be scouted, complete official visits, and finalize contract negotiations.
We are all eager to see Valpo sign new players. We must remember that we want to sign guys who perform at a high level and fit our culture. Valpo has the rare ability to be more selective this offseason rather than scrambling to find guys at the last minute.

One thing that was said by more than a few broadcasters during the NCAA tournament and the larger conference tournaments was, "there really is nothing wrong with college basketball...more interest and higher TV ratings than ever. Only minor changes are needed"
If this is indeed the overall sentiment, then the problems with the portal and NIL will only get worse.

Well considering that this event sparked a Twitter war between Bradley and the rest of the MVC. It's been really entertaining to say the least!
The war started after warldes wife made a tweet in poor taste calling the players who left to other programs "leftovers".
Barnes is in the portal. I had forgotten that he even has a year of eligibility remaining. He was one of the bigger disappointments last year though apparently plaqued by injury. I'm again guessing that the staff has their eye on a bigger better shooting 3. Also wondering what the expectation for a guy like Hudson Scroggins might be. At 6'7", and a lefty, he looks like he might fit into that 3 role.
Two more enter from Northern Iowa...Trey Campbell(13.7 ppg) and Max Weisbrod.
I think some of these guys have used their eligibility but are there waiting on a possible court ruling granting an additional year. Has anyone read anything about this or am I dreaming something?

@vu72 there is currently a motion to add a 5th year to the eligibility clock. These athletes are waiting on a potential "grandfather clause" to be in this bull, but the NCAA does not want to add one to the motion.
