@sp37 I couldn’t agree more. I checked their conference schedule and he will play near Fort Wayne but maybe they will schedule a game closer in the noncon. Would love to see him in game action. Great spot for him. With 4 years remaining he could show back up in D1. Gonna miss JWat he was always willing to have a conversation on game day.
All Wright going to Loyola Marymount is confusing. He had decent run at Xavier, but I guess he is just hoping to put up the numbers he did at Valpo, and get one more crack at Power 5.

All experienced the inevitable truth most transfers find when they go up. The fact that, while they make their bag, they don't get sustainable minutes to further their basketball careers. Ultimately, this means they transfer down for more minutes just to transfer back up to try their luck again
Any guess what kind of NIL he got this time around, if Shon received $500k from Murray State?
Hopefully, the fit is better for him this time around. If not, did he make enough now to make up for the millions he would have made as international pro?

I’m no expert on NIL valuation but if I had to guess it’s probably half or less than he got at Wake! 200-500k I would think!
Yikes, I hope it pays off for him. Staying in the ACC at a school that can turn out some athletes. I see similar numbers/minutes to what he got at Wake.
The portal and NIL bucks are prompting such short-term thinking.
I wonder if Schwieger, Wright, Shaw and others have regrets about leaving Valpo now that we're starting to play the NIL game, however modestly compared to big schools.
I wonder if they imagine pairing up with J.T. and others for what would've been a NCAA or at least NIT contender.
We should be careful lumping all of Valpo's departed players together - they left Valpo for different reasons, and for some those new circumstances changed again.
For example, Cooper Schwieger is one of eight (EIGHT!) players leaving Wake Forest via the transfer portal. Add in some of their graduations, and one article said that Wake only had one returning player from this past year's roster.
Whether or not Cooper is getting more or less in NIL at Florida State, it looks like many players are seeking other opportunities.
Paul broke this on his X site. Lexus Williams, one of my favorite players of the past, has been hired as a. Assistant at B1g Ten Minnesota. Wish him a ton of good stuff.
Cooper Schwieger transferred to Florida State.
At least FSU doesn't play the same teams Wake does.
Ya gotta be kidding. Hurley takes no prisoners. Hope Isaiah has a very thick skin.
Not sure how Shaw plays much at UConn but I guess you never know. They lost a lot but seemed to re-fill pretty well. Shaw's best game last year in terms of scoring was vs ASU coached by Bobby Hurley. So maybe that's where this is coming from.
I did see a couple of Northern Arizona games (watching because of the opponent) last year and Shaw was definitely playing better than he ever did at Valpo. He's the kind of guy who just looks like he can play but for some reason seems to fall short of what you think he can do. Great in the warmups as one HS coach used to put it.
