The pitcher transfer from HC's old school really helps. Our ERA over the last few seasons has been rough, on top of a low team batting average. Over the first 4 games, we are trending positive on having a respectable season for the first time in a few years.
2 more wins against Monmouth and Presbyterian, with Presby being a highlight win versus the last few seasons. I don't want to jinx it (knocking on wood), but we seem to have gained a quality pitcher from our HC bring her over from MSU-Moorhead, a quality bat from the same school, a solid FR closer, and Sydney is pitching better than last season.
Again, 2 more wins for Softball, with 1 run victories against Loyola (IL) and Buffalo. Neither team appears good this season, but we are now 9-6.

It helps to have the team average around .280 versus the Mendoza Line/.200ish of last season. Our pitching has really been boosted, as well.
Nice couple of wins on Friday at the Marshall Tournament (beating Loyola and Buffalo), after two Saturday losses, we're at 9-8; and playing two more games today (early, we're up 2-0 over Buffalo)
Softball continues to show marked improvement from 2024 to 2025, now sitting at 17-17 (6-7). A mid-table finish this season, would be quite an achievement, after the last few seasons.
Seems like Valpo softball is pretty legit this year. They already have the most wins they’ve had since 2018… nice seeing some Valpo teams in the win column quite a bit. Oddly enough they are doing this while struggling at home so far.
VU softball is certainly legit this year and we finally can begin to see a positive future under the new regime. Yesterday they lost a close one at Notre Dame 0-1. The Beacons held ND scoreless until the 6th, allowed only one run, but were unable to score the equalizer in the top of the 7th. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen that level of competitiveness.
agreed-we finally have an athletic director that seems to be able to identify talented coaches-refreshing from what we have experienced for years. Now-if she would please change leadership in women's golf and baseball we should be on our way to at least being competitive in all sports.

That’s just MVC. Actually, so far 18-25 over all. Most wins since 2018.
In reviewing the all-time results, I was struck by how fast and how far this program went downhill since 2018. In our first MVC season in 2018 we won a total of 27 games and placed 4th in the MVC. In 2017, SB was 3rd in the HL and won a total of 28.
Softball used to be one of our better programs several years ago, so it has the potential
