Given recent developments in Coach Boyd’s efforts to rebuild our WBB program, I figured it is time to leave the past behind and provide some focus going forward on this new team and staff.
It looks like Coach Boyd has pretty much solidified her staff with the recent addition of two more assistants — Assistant Coach Jasmine Hackett and Special Assistant to the Coach, Skylar Culbertson. They join assistants Brook Bailey and Andy Witt.
On the player side, the news here is a bit lighter. The official roster, per the team site, stands at only nine — mainly guards with one forward listed at 6’2. This new staff has its work cut out for it to just find DI-level talented bodies let alone find some height for the front line. This is the MVC after all.
Here’s hoping a bunch of stuff is happening behind the scenes that we’ll hear about soon. Good luck Coach.
Thanks for starting fresh. There remains a bunch of players in the portal, however, size combined with actual playing experience is at a minimum. Not sure why news is so slow as at least 2 have committed, the Quincy PG transfer and a 5-10 G from Wisconsin.
@azvalpo I just went by the official WBB web site roster (too lazy to go back into the past string or TVB). But I am thinking Coach Boyd will probably mine her NAIA and GLVC contacts to get players who fly under the DI radar and hit HS players who might be overlooked cuz they aren’t 5* to start year one. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Milana Nenadic 6-3 redshirt junior appears to have committed. 2 years at Maine, last year at Idaho State. Playing career 1, 5, 5 games.
Earlier commitment from Autumn Dibb 5-10 Fr. out of Wisconsin.
A bit more info on these two women. Autumn was 2nd team all conference and ranked in the top 35 in the state playing for WI D-1 State runner up Muskego HS. Large school, good program. Milana, is from Kitchner, Ontario but hasn’t seen a lot of minutes at either of her two previous stops. She’s 6’3” which in itself is a plus cuz you can’t coach height. Good that she has two more years.

Given the way the NCAA rules on things she might have 4 years left!!
