Ho boy. A lot has recently come to light regarding the Bradley AD and the treatment of players with a new coach coming in. Here is a link to the tweet that started it all. A lot of quotes are former players and teammates of Anthony who seem to confirm the allegations.

This is an ugly situation, their old coach led them to many winning seasons and many post season runs. He was loved and respected. They played only 1-2 home games because the university couldnt get on the same page with any local fields (they are supposed to play on at Cardinals minor league stadium but it was a cluster).
They hired a guy a bad reputation that has been fired from a couple previous gigs. Much of the team entered portal after this went down, I believe Valpo got at least 1 of their guys.
@mwsportsfan apparently there is a bit of renovations coming to the cardinals minor league park that would make them unable to play there. I understand many have reservations as to the quality of Bauer field. But at least VU owns the place and isn't at the mercy of other ball clubs
It would be one thing if this was a isolated incident, but since multiple teammates have come out cooberating the story, and the softball team currently has allegations of mistreatment. This is going to turn into quite the incident for Bradley
100% agree, Valpo at least has a place to play. Peoria IL area has many other ball fields HS and college (Including Jim Thome Field), and Bloomington/Normal is just the down the road. If they couldnt find a place for that team to play they werent trying very hard.
I dont wish ill on anybody but if a couple of these teams are down next year and Valpo is a little a better.... Maybe the Beacons are back in the MVC tournament.
***I did also hear it may not just be the bottom 2 that are out anymore, sounds like it maybe harder to get in next season. Would love to see the Beacons back in either way.
Quite honestly, this is just the new NCAA environment. No new coach is going to want injured guys taking up roster spots, when those same guys can just leave for another school, once they are fully healthy and able to play again. Think Isiah Stafford in basketball, and how he had a full ride this last season to rehab, and then bolts in the offseason, before we get any additional return on that investment. The players wanted this environment, so both coaches and players are going to take advantage of it. I had Tommy John surgery myself/UCL repair, just as this guy did, and there is absolutely no guarantee at coming back 100% of what you used to be. I came back throwing slower at Valpo, but there are plenty of guys that have come back throwing harder.
