Tough start
Illinois scores 52, Northwestern 42, Valpo 30 and Eastern Washington 52. Hopefully Eastern Illinois provides a breather because Tenn Tech is next and they score in droves.
Not to be insensitive but-who really gives a fuck? Hes not here
there is a faction of people who appreciate what Landon did and brought to Valpo football. Don’t mind keeping tabs at all.
Fox was sacked and did a decent job coaching football at Valpo given the resources. Coaching football at Valpo with the goal of winning is a monumental task.
BTW, regarding Pioneer football, former Davidson coach Scott Abell install the option at Rice and so far they are 3-1, which is their best start since 2001.

He's very lucky he got the job before the bone headed coaching at Valpo that led to them losing in the last 20 seconds.

USC, I edited your comment slightly to reflect what I believe you meant. I hope I did good by you.
Here’s my take for what it’s worth. He was a very good defensive mind and from outside it appeared that the players played hard for him. So, there had to be something more than W-L in the firing. Why did the facilities not continue to improve? Why was he unable to maintain a core nucleus of coordinators and top assistants?
What usually happens when a HFBC is fired is that the next gu6 gets a bunch of funding that was not necessarily offered to his predecessor. To be honest, I’d love to have Cecchini back with Landon as his Assistant HC and DC. That combo would have taken us a helluva a lot farther than each separately. But… water over the dam.

The problem with Fox was the revolving door of assistants. Players might have 4 different OC’s or DC’s in their time at Valpo. Waddle brings a team that has been together for some time. He mentioned in one interview that including kids, something like 35 people moved from Marietta to Valpo. Did he get a promise of more money for staff? Who knows, but the hope of coaching continuity can only be a positive for Valpo football.
Symmes hire killed Fox era. Fleming had team/Appel playing well offensively. Whole program picked up Symmes wasn’t it immediately his first spring.
Still lack upper classmen on that were offense to this day due to Symmes hire
Dude hating on Symmes Look at his resume and whats yours?...He was in nfl and at power 5 conferences...you may have been a backup at Valpo...check yourself
Symmes was objectively a horrible hire. Has been a nepo volunteer for the vast majority of his career. Do your homework
haha,,,what a dildo...got nothing to do with u acting like ur a football savant...
Symmes NC St..Steelers...you 3rd string at Valpo
“Compare paychecks”? “dildo”? Come on guys. Start behaving like Valpo grads.

Valpofb16 was merely pushing back on personalized, snarky remarks that are unusual for this board. He has consistently provided some of the most insightful, knowledgeable commentary on VU football of any regular contributor.
Yes, more or less wanted to see how much breath I was wasting. Will edit the comment down.
