Valparaiso looks to take on Presbyterian at their place following a close loss to Morehead State. Presbyterian likely lost their PFL playoff bid and undefeated regular season last week. Massey gives us a 9% chance of winning.

Hope fully the young guys play again and we see some glimpses.

Blue Hose 42-10

Oh Valpo is bad at football, we have been for 20+ years, oh Valpo is bad at football, even Nick Saban couldn’t save us. Oh Andy waddle , is this your dream job ? We just can’t quite figure it out, maybe Pat McAfee will give us a kick to improve. It’s kinda funny , but it’s really really sad, we’re bad at football. The beacons are looking for light, but have only seen darkness, can we play VA Lynchburg every Saturday, the fans are so sad…

that’s my top notch jingle

Had freshman show flashes. Waddle goes back to a QB (glad he’s healthy) with a 3TD-12INT ratio. The result -1 yards at half. That’s a disservice during a “rebuild”. Safest GMs are those who are in over their head and preaching for the future.

Believe that’s where we are at with the Waddle era. Claims it’s the players, won’t play any of his recruits.

At the half add 23 (could have been 30) to the points-against tally. We have have a grand total of 39 yards for the half

JD24 said it best - Are we any better off with Waddle than Fox?

Fox went 1-11 in his first season. That team gave up 346 points in 12 games (av: 28.8 ppg). Cecchini’s first year was 337 PA for an average of 28.1 ppg.  Carlson’s first year team gave up 524 points for an average of 47.6 ppg.

In 8 games so far, Valpo has given up 283 points for an average of 35.4 ppg.  Tells ya something — we’ve regressed to somewhere between post-Carlson and Cecchini’s year one.

Fox was in the PFL through multiple decades. Had a better record at Dayton than Waddle did as as a DC, Team is much worse this year. I’ll go out on a limb and say , yes in the immediate we are in worse shape.

I’m more wondering what the end game is. 1-8 , one , singular, one freshman/Waddle recruit starts. What are we even doing?

Very solid second half with one of their TDs coming on what should have been an incomplete pass. Can’t  believe Keefe played let alone as well as he did. Some nice positives.

Vu72 - ummm no. Valpo scored during garbage time and being down 30.

Their backup QB came in the game in the FIRST half.  Teams typically aren’t emptying the tank to score up 30

Their backup QB came in the game in the FIRST half.

And we played THE ENTIRE GAME with our third and fourth string running backs.

@vu72 - your argument is like buffing a turd. The scoreboard justifies my point.

No argument here. The point was made that their result included using their second string QB. My response was simply to point out that we were not using our first string either. No need to further degrade already a difficult result.

With the 43 points given up today the running total is up to 326 in 9 games for a 37.0 ppg average. If the average holds (and USD and Butler are fully capable of scoring those kind of points), we can project a PA of 438 points for 2025 in 12 games.

Here’s how that compares for the five HFBCs we’ve had since 2005 in their first year:

Dale Carson - 524 in 11 games

Andy Waddle - 438 in 12 games (projected)

Stacy Abrams - 424 in 11 games

Landon Fox - 346 in 12 games

Dave Cecchini - 337 in 12 games

No currently comes close to the ineptitude of Carlson. Terrible coach and a complete knucklehead.

regarding Waddle, this season has been a disaster. Valpo needs serious talent on offense - defensively these guys are on the field too long. Terrible QB play, terrible oline, weak WRs. Very likely the worst offense in D1 football. Waddle has a lot to clean up.
