Massey has Butler as a 94% favorite at home, quite the split for two sub .500 teams. Think this one will be close and come down to turnovers. Win here would push Waddles first season to the B / B+ personally. Stetson win helped a lot

Looks like very good football weather in Indy. 50ish and sunny. Go Valpo!

Was in attendance. No real notes either way. Game wasn’t close at half. Portal is now open until mid December. Now is where we see where the Valpo Football program is at.

Well, they lost and finished 2-10 with the first game at a level to when they faced College of Faith. Given that it is a change and there was progress, I would grade Waddle’s performance as a C.

We were outscored 51-7 last two first half’s against sub .500 PFL teams. For the wait for Waddles players crowd 55 new players were in this year. Rumors, Hill, Markley are the only freshman that played extensive minutes. The rest were Fox players and two transfers.

Keefe had two good halves this season. Both against teams with large leads. If he graduates and leavesI’d have to give the QB situation an F-.

With 7000 players in the portal with the D2 and D3 seasons having ended. A post Mortem doesn’t make sense until we know who’s leaving. I don’t think you’ll see 4 kids from this team move up to FBS. More likely none will.

Valpo lost to a non top 25 D3 school. Valpo was outscored in the first half 177-44 in conference play. Only reasonable win was a 24 point comeback against what teams were calling the worst situation in Division 1 football. Tough season. There were some character comebacks but also a lot of seniors on the field.

Hard to say looking at this season where we are above average in the PFL for next season.  Which is first in a long while

If Keefe returns, Valpo’s QB situation is a D, not far off from F-

Getting the feeling that an assumption is evolving here  that Caron will be in the portal and that the 2026 QB question will now revolve around Keefe (if he comes  back) vs. ……….. the unknown.

In retrospect, it has been pretty clear that the OC/HC preference was to give Keefe a very long leash; Caron, much shorter. In the first ⅔ of the season that was almost embarrassing in light of the TD/INT ratio. I am concerned that the second half rallies in the last two games might obscure a less than proficient season-long performance. ………and we’ve not even addressed the Valpo defense. 🥺

But FB16, I agree with you. Any further discussion of post-mortems and/or future outlooks need to wait until the dust settles a bit.  I’ll defer to you on that and await you starting that string whenever you see an opportune moment.

Peace/out

If Keefe returns....How much upside does he have? Also... Mansaray if healthy one of the best players in the PFL. I am assuming he is out of eligibility? Not sure if any outcomes would have been different if he played more? Yeah defense was pretty lousy most of the year.  Waddles grade, incomplete, he didn't have much to work with. Like others have said, wait until the portal closes until we make any future forecasts.
