With ND's struggles, I have seen some Facebook post suggesting a coaching change, and Powell has been brought up. Not sure what to think.

Do you have a link to that?  I would be curious what other names are mentioned.  If ND even considers Powell, I would think they try and get Bryce first.

Folks, Valpo is 17-13 after a 15-19 season. Fans of someone like ND would certainly want to get someone with a higher profile or maybe an undefeated coach like the guy at Miami.

Powell is not leaving anytime soon. He is being brought up in a lot of coaching carousel talks. Most of which are asinine. Powell is perfectly comfortable with the place he is in currently and has stated multiple times he still has more work to do in valpo

If you're looking for more info about the mind of Roger Powell Jr...

We sat down with Coach Powell on Tuesday morning to talk about his reflections on the season and his hopes for what's ahead.  Had a great time and we hope that you can feel as confident about the direction of the program as we are if you can listen.  We are airing the interview today (Friday) at 3:00 pm CT on WVUR (95.1 FM in Valpo, or online on the WVUR website or the TuneIn Radio App).  Hope you can join us!

- Eli Conklin and Jack Hutter, hosts of the Xtra Point on WVUR

Rather than quickly assuming Roger Powell is leaving, I think we need to flip the narrative. How can we as fans or alumni figure out how to give him the support he needs. Our NIL improved prior to this year, from just about nothing to mediocre. Yes we received one large donation this year, but we can’t continue rely on one or a few large donors. That one large donation will be used as a base amount we can spend annually rather than us going out and landing a few big fish next season. The college basketball landscape has changed and is continuing to evolve. No, we will never have the NIL to compete with conferences like the Big East, but it doesn’t mean we can’t continue to support our school. There are plenty more ways to support the program than NIL donations as well such as attending games, going to the concession, buying merch, watching ESPN+, listening to WVUR, etc.

If we’re not buying in as a fan base now, then what is it going to take? We have a good chance at getting a bye in one of the toughest and most exciting conference tournaments in the country. I’ve seen others commenting that we need to enjoy some success while it lasts, and I agree.

This is spot on.  If there was ever a time to support the program, it is now.  All of us fans want to retain as many current players as possible and grow this program.  There is also obvious concern (whether this year on in near future) about the staff leaving.  If we want the staff to have the best chance to continue succeeding at Valpo (because if they do not have that chance they will leave) then now is the time to support.  Doing so not only helps the program but in turn helps keep the coach.

This is the only answer to all of this.

Powell doesn't seem the type to jump quickly. He stayed at Gonzaga and was careful in his next step. I think his own personal journey and narrative is important to him and will factor into any next step outside of just money. I do hope though that this recent success helps shake the money tree a bit. It's a better pitch to say "give us money so that we can keep this winning going" vs "give us money so we can try to get people that can win"

As much as people like to admire risk takers most are much more eager to be a part of a thing that's actually happening/a safer bet.

I get that impression as well, I dont see him jumping ship. Feeling supported will help that for sure as well as some of these guys committing to stick with him here, which I will think they will.
