Regarding these players redshirting, it’s not a big deal as they certainly are not game changers. With an 0-15 record, no player on Valpo has irreplaceable value or should have an ego thinking they have privilege. Recruiting for next year needs to have a “fill the bare cupboard” attitude.
You are not wrong. If both redshirt we will have 2 scholarships available, one committed to the player from Alec Peters hometown. Transfers always possible.
Ouch! Bradley 80 Valpo 44
With Maci and Raven out the team really is playing with maybe 3 or 4 D1 players. It’s kinda freshman v. varsity every game. Shut down the expectations if there were any. Huge off season for Coach Boyd.
@vu72 - Even if those two were there, and they are at very best capable, Valpo would still be 0-16. I guess we will find out if the this coach can transition from D3 and recruit.

Bad but not sure 0-16.
Boyd came from Quincy which is D2.
I hate to say this but transfers are almost necessary to free some space as we have potentially only one spot left.
It gets worse, crushed by #320 SIU 97-59. We were never in the game. They called off the dogs with about 6 minutes to go.
Lost by +30 plus to a 3-11 team. The good news is that the women’s basketball MVC is extremely weak. Looking at the schedule, the next opportunity for a win is Jan. 29 at home against Indiana State.

With this loss, Valpo falls further in the NET ranking to #361 out of 363 teams and tied for the worst record in the country at 0-17. Indiana State is ranked 312 with 4 wins and Southern Illinois is 319 with 2 wins. The question now is which will happen first: VU will win a game or drop to the very last team in the national rankings.
Played better tonight one horrible stretch killed us. We actually started well.
Kudos to Nenedic who went for 34 tied for the 5th best all time.
Jan. 29 at the ARC against ISU is the opportunity to remove the goose egg. Every opponent does not want to labeled as the team where Valpo gets their first win. This is a very tough situation for this program, and they desperately and obviously need quality D1 talent.
The beat goes on… 0-19. They are getting closer.
@usc4valpo was able to get to the ARC for this one on a cold snowy afternoon. The ladies ladies played better tonight, I do feel they are going to get one this year.

The women play Bradley on the road Friday, pretty likely a loss. After that, from Jan 29-Feb 8 VU will play the four teams just above them (7, 8, 9, and 10) in the conference standings, who have a combined record of 23-47. Three of those games are at home. If Valpo doesn't take one of the four in that stretch of about ten days, there is little hope for a win this year.
0-20 record after Bradley and shooting a mind blowing 22% shooting. The upcoming ISU game at home is their best opportunity for a win. I think the university and fn base needs to give them a boost.
How is the 2026 recruiting class? Would love to see a 1 year turnaround, even just sprinkling some wins in.
