Valpo rolls into the Tommies. Tommies lost to first year coach over at Butler this year. Mauled Davidson last week.

More of the same coming. Good news is game 8 is coming. Meaning all the redshirts can play the last four games. If there is some hidden gems in the young group of Valpo players. That will be the time to see it. Would like to see us compete, if you take out the VUL game, numbers are extremely similar to 2010 Carlson.

49-3 Tommies.

Waddle has to be better than Osteen. This dude needs talent.

My fear is unlike Dayton, I am not convinced the St Thomas will call off the dogs at half.

@usc4valpo All the kids that are playing, multiple had multiple PFL offers. In Waddle's first class of High School students they had 2/30some players have likewise offers

Come on guys, some of you are looking to jump out of a window and in particular, the Fox apologists are being very unfair to Waddle. He and his staff are putting in a whole new series of systems with players they didn't recruit.  He has a history of winning in a very tough D3 league.  Many here think Mount Union would win the PFL. Marietta lost to them last year 28-21.  He has been on the job less than 1 year.  Give it a break.

I am hoping they turn it around for sure VU72. I think as we all are. Resume is there. Carlson had a national powerhouse NAIA program which by in large is better at the top than Division 3. Pounded teams like Marian, Saint Francis , Tiffin, Lake Erie. It just didn't work at Valpo.  A lot of that was him blaming the players and lack thereof talent.

Waddle is in year 1 and it's safe to say it is not going well.

Within 14 points at halftime year one in conference:

Fox - 7/8 games (Took over 2 Win roster graduating a load of seniors, AFTER signing day)

Cecchini- 8/8 games

Carlson - 3/8 games

Waddle - 0/2 and it wasn't remotely close in either games.

You cannot seriously tell me the talent is that far off from what the other guys inherited. They need to show they can compete for a half. I'm not even asking for wins this season. I am asking to show they are willing to compete for this coach. There are 40+ new players brought in by Waddle's staff. It is tough to say , well they have nothing to do with this.

It's not the losing that's concerning.

@vu72 - dude, I was not slamming Waddle, and I am mixed about Fox's firing as I thought he did as well as he could, but on the other hand I really hate being satisfied with mediocrity. I was saying that there can be no way Waddle can be as bad as the Osteen era which strongly enabled Valparaiso football to be in a 2 decade rebuild.

We will see how this year goes. If we aren’t competitive throughout the majority of remaining conference games and there’s a mass exodus in November. You are looking at a disaster.

To the “Fox apologists comments”. We have been outscored 82-10 in conference play so far. I think if Waddle goes 0-8 in competing and we keep offering kids who aren’t receiving other PFL offers. It might be safe to say that wasn’t the smartest switch as soon as year 1.

It's possible that Valpo's offensive scheme should be hold the opposition to a field goal and return the kickoff for a TD.

this is an embarrassment. 3-14 TD/INT ratio. Dumb down the offense. 11 YPC in the second half for Saint Thomas.

Furious. Just absolutely furious.

Wasn’t around for early Carlson. But he took a 1-9 team over made of primarily D3 region talent. We have 2 Drop down RBS, QBs with multiple PFL offers, defensive players with multiple defensive offers that played on a 4-8 team last year.

this is an abomination. Spin it however you want to
