Lottich sighting on the Missouri bench as the Tigers take on Illinois in the Braggin Rights game at the Enterprise Center in St Louis on FS1

At least he knows where the locker rooms are.

Let's just say Missouri isn't doing as well as Valpo did IN THE FIRST HALF.

This one surprises me as I didn't think he could play nearly at all and never seemed to do anything when he was on the court at Valpo. He's at 7.3 pts per game and shooting over 40% from 3. That's about the same as he is from the FT in one of those "makes no sense" stats.

Now that the Iowa Caucuses are over, I took a look at the Iowa Hawkeyes' season so far.

Ben is their leading scorer at 16.9 ppg starting all 17 of their games and averaging about 28 minutes pg. Only three players have started every game and Ben is one of the three. Keep it going Ben

Yeah, MVC players doing well at IA, IL, Purdue and NE. Like MVC is their farm system with extra Covid year.

As the Covid years phase out mid major coaches who can recruit, develop and hold onto good players should rise to the top. Roger Powell should have a bright future.  :)

Not sure if this is strictly about former men's team players/coaches, but if not, I did see that former women's point guard, Shay Frederick is now a grad assistant at University of South Dakota. She went there to work with former Valpo assistant Gabby Johnson.

When one thinks about the level of top level guys who were plucked by the Big 10 schools, and maybe some others,  the MVC would have had a banner year with top rated teams including IN ST.  Would have, could have??

Preston Ruedinger had quite the week for Green Bay and was named  HL POW. He scored 16 and 26 in the two HL games the past week shooting 48% from the floor including 57% from the arc.  Also averaged 4.5 RBs and 3 assists. Happy for him.

GB, who we beat earlier this season and won only three games last season, is three wins away from a 20 win turnaround season. They currently lead the HL with a 12-3 record. Oakland is second at 11-4.

See if Jake can take down Purdue today. Leading 29-28 two minutes left in first half.

Let's hope today's big win over Purdue gives Jake Diebler the head coaching position permanently and he schedules Coach Powell's Valpo team sometime in the future.

How cool is it that Valpo can claim Bryce Drew, Scott Drew, Roger Powell, and Jake Diebler as alumni that are HC at the D-1 level?

Only Bryce is an actual alum, but all have been major contributors to the program.

You could also add Matt Driscoll.

All four have degrees from Valpo, but in your mind only Bryce is considered an Alum?

I debated the same thing, but Powell and Scott's Master degrees do make them alumni.

You know GB is making some people take notice when the NY Times does a major writeup on GB's worst to first turnaround in year one of Wicks' tenure.

[Hope there is no paywall]. In case there is here are a couple things: GB won only 3 games last year.  They have gone form a NET of 361 last year to 187 this season.

There is a big caveat/qualifier to this story, however, when you compare GB's first year and Valpo's first year stories:  HL v. MVC.  Even so, ya gotta hand it to Wicks.
