Interesting reading. I think HL men's basketball rating will improve some the next couple seasons as I do not expect CSU to be down long. NKU will get better as transition to D1 continues, and UIC should be better than it was with a couple rising star players and a coach who seems decent. YSU is already losing HL frosh first teamer Andrews to transfer, no hope for much improvement there. Hope Milwaukee and WSU don't drop off too much with coaching changes. Milwaukee besides losing it's graduating seniors also granted releases to 3 other players so far. Springs, Jordan and Arians to start. Team did not like way Jeter was let go, and not fans of the AD. Maybe league can move back up to mid teens range in a couple years.

Not sure if Valpo has any real possible alternatives at this point. It will take school movement within the MVC or A-10 for us to be considered by an existing conference for a move up the food chain and out of the HL. Unless somehow only the best of HL merge with best of Summit or OVC. Not sure that is even remotely possible or beneficial. Also the travel issues could crop up again, depending on the school mix. Oh well, I'm sure Commish LeCrone has the solution. [emoji40]

Neither St. Mary's or Gonzaga appears to be bothered about the ranking of their league.  Those 2 schools completely dominate that league year after year, and only recently has St. Mary's risen to the top to challenge Gonzaga.

One must wonder after wh's revelation about SMC that their recent competitive element with Gonzaga has come from also violating rules and not just good clean recruiting.
