Why do we show the women's tennis score vs Marquette as a 0-7 loss when the recap shows we lost 0-9.
This weekend Northern Illinois played U Indy and won according to their website 7-0 while U Indy's website says it was 0-9.
Is this a D1 thing where they only score 5-2 instead of 6-3?
Doubles=1pt total in Division I, 1pt each in other divisions

Just a guess, but you need 7 to win out of 9. If you get to 7-0 you win even though the other matches may not have been decided. So the official score is 7-0 or 0-7, but the kids are allowed to play out the last two so it could be scored as 9-0 but officially, it is 7-0. ???
I.m thinking it is kinda like match play in golf. Once a player has no chance of winning the match is over, like 5 and 4 as an example. Still, if they continued to play you could say it ended 7and 3 when in reality it was over several holes earlier.
