Title: Interesting Valpo connection?
Post by: vu72 on August 29, 2020, 06:48:23 PM
So I was listening to a story on the radio about a guy from Milwaukee who was walking to DC for the gathering at the Lincoln Memorial celebrating the March on Washington anniversary.

The leader of this walk was asked if there was any problems alone the way and sure enough, I said that things got diccy when they reached Indiana.  Then he said that all was good going through Valparaiso and, he said, one of the coaches joined the march for a while.  Trouble came later.  So I'm wondering whether or not this might have been Luke Gore or one of the other coaches,  no mention as to whether or not it was a university coach or otherwise.

This group ran into problems in Fort Wayne when they marched in the roadway/highway and refused to  go to the side of the road so as to not interfere with traffic.  It appears that they were trying to  cause some commotion and attention.

I find it interesting that this group was not arrested in Valparaiso. Were they on the side of the road in Valpo but then decided to interfere with traffic only when they got to the Ft Wayne area or was the reaction of the police in the Ft Wayne area a lot different than the police in Valpo?
