Jeff is his older brother. Marcus is the better player and did not consider Valpo.

HL presidents made the decision to deal Butler out:

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/blog/brett-mcmurphy/19194890
Why would you do such a thing, let them compete but not be championship eligible?  This seems just really petty to me and the HL looks like the one being the big cry baby.  I agree with valpopal that it appears the HL is unprepared for the early departure and should have let well enough alone, if Butler had a championship worthy team then let them have their championship.  This is suppose to be about student athletes not a bunch of baloney politics.

You don't really believe this do you?  Have you been living under a rock for the past decade?  It's all about the $$$ and politics.

After rewatching the Indiana/Purdue brawl it seems that Purdue ought to have 2 players suspended for their next game. Their runner, their 2nd baseman, who went into third base head first and whoever threw the punch in the middle of that shoving match. Although that could have been an Indiana player.

EDIT: After another view it looks like it was a Purdue player who threw the punch, but I couldn't tell who.

If you watch closely, I'm 99% certain the Purdue head coach is the one who threw a punch at an Indiana player.  I wouldn't be shocked if he is not with the Purdue team on Friday when Valpo beats them...

Other Sports / NCAA Baseball Bracketology

I didn't realize there was such a thing, but I found a "Bracketology" on ESPN.com for the upcoming NCAA Baseball Tournament.  They have Valpo playing in Gary, IN in the Purdue Regional!  It sure would be cool to play so close to home in the NCAA Tournament!  We'll see what shakes out later today in the Championship game and on selection day!

I wonder if they had some returns?  Or some blocks that were freed up recently?

There are much better seats available now, compared to last night.  Looking for two together, right now you can get sections BB or CC row BB.  Section EE row AA.  But, in section DD you're all the way up in row MM.

Not easy from the web interface to figure out how many total seats are available... Last night it looked pretty full (e.g. row ZZ in sections BB or CC, but row EE in section EE).

Anything in the first 4-5 rows of the Mezzanine are obstructed seats.  I would rather sit in row ZZ than AA, BB, or CC.  You have the railing in your line of sight and a contant stream of people walking in front of you.

Kinda looks like we'll see either Milwaukee or Butler on Saturday night.  Playing either again is scary

Remember, the bracket is reseeded after the second round, so we'll play the lowest remaining seed. Cheer for some upsets!

Nope, no re-seeding.  We're guaranteed to play the 4-5-8-9 survivor.

Are you positive?

Very difficult to beat a team like Butler three times in a season.

Not if you're better than them!   ;)

That was start to finish domination!  Congrats to the guys for finishing strong in a game that meant nothing.  Here's to hoping Matt Kenney's shoulder is okay.

The new design has removed the reference to the game vs. Butler because Butler threatened legal action for trademark violation.  Apparently they have nothing better to do.  Valpo even offered to pay royalties, but Butler declined.  The original order was 100 shirts and they sold out in less than 2 days.  They then took pre-orders and had 60 people pay to be on a waitlist for the next batch.  Just because none of you have any sense of humor doesn't mean the rest of the world can't have some fun.  If you don't like it, don't buy it!

The link that vu72 posted still has the reference on it, yet he stated that it had changed.  I looked and didn't see any changes.

I thought the humor was sophomoric at best, but it was humorous and basically harmless.  I was simply confused at the assertion that the design had been changed.  If you could post a link to the new design, that might clear it up for me.

Valpo Basketball / Re: The "big" announcement...

I guess I question the need for an "announcement" for a new website. Changes like this happen all the time. Maybe if they'd have just made changes people would have been surprised and impressed, rather than disappointed and underwhelmed.

I wouldn't say the website is changed "all of the time."  The current site is over 3 years old.

Quite frankly, the only ones who made this announcement underwhelming were those of you who took what was posted on the Crusader Facebook page and blew it out of proportion.  The original post read: "Less than one month until something new is unveiled by Valpo Athletics! Look for more information to come in the weeks ahead!"

Where do you see in that post that there is a "big announcement" coming?  The marketing team was trying to generate some buzz and interest during a slow part of the year and didn't exaggerate one bit in doing so.  Is this post not accurate now that you know a new website is coming on Friday?

Oakland is supposed to visit the ARC this season. Also, the ARC may be a very busy place the weekend before Thanksgiving. That's all I'll say at this point.

There are a couple YouTube videos with highlights from high school, but this site won't let me post links for some reason...
