David Simon was a teammate of VU recruit Jahari Williamson. That may be a big connection also.

Yes they did invite season ticket holders and my wife and I will be going. We have been a host family the last several years for international student basketball players.

Tonagel is sounding better to me also. How about Greg as head coach and a couple of his former team mates as assistant coaches. Lubos Barton and Jared Nuness. Lubos would have excellent Europe ties while Jared recruits well in the midwest. Greg has his Indiana connections and keep Luke as the associate head coach if he wants it. Luke has done very well recruiting Canada.

Come on.  First game with basically a new squad that have to learn to play together.  Toledo is a damn fine team. Deep in talent and will probably win the MAC. Yes the first half was hard to watch but play in the second half was much better. Krikke and King played as expected and it was good to see Green put up 20 points and going 5 for 8 in 3 point shooting. The guys looked nervous at first. Lets give them a few more games before all the negatives roll in. The offense is still a big question mark.

Another Canadian commitment announcing today. Yanis Bamba a 6'6 SG from Montreal Quebec

Green scored 23 points when Cedarville played VU in an exhibition game in October 2019. He had 7 rebounds and shot 3 of 4 from 3 point range. VU won 85 to 65

Agree with most of what's been posted regarding transfers. But The NCAA made it way too easy with the not having to sit out a year if it is your first time transferring.

Some interesting transfers from the daily count.  Murray State has 5 players transferring, Jayson Kent a 6'7 Fr is transferring from Bradley to Indiana State.  David Skogman a 6'10 RS FR from Buffalo ( hometown Waukesha WI ) is in portal. VU offered him 2 years ago. Averaged 8 Pts and 6.3 RPG also shooting 37.5 % from 3 point range. Bennett Vander Plas 6'8 Center from Ohio U ( hometown Ripon WI ) is transferring. Grad transfer who has scored 1594 points in his career at Ohio U. Might be worth a try getting those guys especially with our Wisconsin connections

Think you guys are wrong about transfers. I really don't think anyone will unless they think they are over their head at playing in the Missouri Valley. If many do transfer then VU is in deep trouble with trying to put a team together for next. One recruit coming in and no one else even mentioned in scouting sites. Last year co-vid kind of saved VU's butt but next year transfers will not be able to play immediately.

I agree with Valpotx ... Lottich coached a good game. 2 bad plays in regulation at the end where inbound passes were screwed up. One where Edwards should have used both hands.  But .... the refs were Loyola's 6th man ... calls were not called fair both ways. Very obvious. The guys played a hell of a game.

I would still like the MVC to keep an even number of public and private schools though. Murray State, UIC, Milwaukee, N. Kentucky or Wright State would be fine. But i would like an additional Private University also. Choices there are somewhat slim though. Oral Roberts, St. Thomas (MN), Detroit, Lipscomb and even Denver would be about the only choices in the midwest.

Great game.  Great comeback.  Edwards was fantastic both on offense and defense.  And great to see Young make some big plays and play those final key minutes. VU will have difficulty all year against more athletic teams which both Coastal Carolina and Tulane were. But all you negative posters last night should have thought maybe VU was more worn down those last 5 minutes. Carolina had a big advantage in not playing the day before and not dealing with all the arena problems too. Thought the Refs seemed to give more bad calls to VU tonight. Especially the one against Krikke. The guy charged into him and would have been his 5th foul. Anyways just my 2 cents. VU did something that they haven't done lately .... comeback and win.

Good win. Krikke and Barrett.  A big difference.  Lets all be patient until King gets eligible.
