Same ref did it again to Gordon, just waited a little longer.  That weird stutter shot of Gordon's.

Anyone else notice how the ref walked into the key on Gordan's first free throw?

Explanation?

With this many misses, shouldn't there be more offensive rebounds?

I'm sure that's tough for Illinois State to hear today.

Have to ask: where was Sackey?  Not that I think he would have made a difference.

I was not aware of this publication.  There is also the Chicago Crusader newspaper, an African-American publication, that continues to this day.  Too bad that connection was not made.

As a lawyer, I view the word "crusader" in a positive light.  There have been many "crusaders" for one cause or another, generally meritorious causes.  If anything, the juxtaposition of "crusader" with a basketball team (or any other sports team), was simply confusing.

When I completed the survey, I expressed ambivalence.  There's a nickname: the Valparaiso University Ambivalent.

Thank you, Valpo, for a great run!

Can't be disappointed by this game.  We just ran out of gas.

Next year, this team has to be respected.

Other than the 12-0 run by MSU in the first half, we didn't have the typical 10 minute stretch of bad play.  Very solid.  This team is coming together at the right time.

That was so sweet I won't mention how much I hate those stupid scarves!

There's no one under the offensive glass.  Can't do that when you're missing shots.  I guess we'll have to have our usual second half comeback.

Pass the Rolaids...

Anyone in NW Indiana getting a "media blackout" on the Illinois State - Drake game on ESPN+?  I'm similarly concemed about our game.

Glass half empty: first half lapses lead to large leads for opposing teams.  Lottich has to go.

Glass half full: this team has heart and overcomes large deficits.  Lottich is a great halftime motivator.

Just keep JFL, Krikke and Clay for next year, and I'll be happy.
#20
JFL gone in ... 3 months.
#22
That wasn't pretty.  Poor passing leading to turnovers.  No strength to the basket.  Apparently, getting to the game site early means nothing.
#23
And the percentage of Sackey's "slashes" to the rim which are successful is ...?
#24
No one on this team has any business shooting the 3, but that's probably the only option when you dig such deep holes for yourself.
#25
This game was lost in the first half on turnovers and in the second half when we couldn't put them away when we had the 66-62 lead.  The Sackey alley-opp attempt to JFL was stupidity.
