Need to focus on Malevy... Was named to the 2022-23 MVC All-Defensive Team and was also named 2022-23 MVC Defensive Player of the year after becoming the first player in the history of the MVC to record 50+ block, 50+ steals in the same season • Leons was also the only player in the NCAA to have 50+ block, 50+ steals, and 200+ rebounds in 2022-23.

New year. New clean slate.

I hope the coaches take this focus on Malevy, and make a video to show how each individual can play tough defense. We need to play defense better and make every shot contested.

We have played well in stretches, but not nearly 40 minutes. These home games should be winnable.

Palm looked good (to me) in first few games, defending, rebounding and getting ball on low post and doing something quick or finding open man. He needs to get back to that confidence level.

I think having a conference home really helped them. 10 wins this year is amazing for where they've been historically. That victory over Auburn was also their first victory over an SEC team in program history.

If we play like the last five games we'll be lucky to get three wins.  If we can play like Illinois, Southern and much of Drake, we could win 6.  I'm not seeing the improvement over the last 5 games I was hoping for with this coaching staff.

I didn't watch the last game, but looking at the stats and it comes down to 3 point shooting and defending.  If we hit at NCAA average and defended to same average, we have a tie game.  I think we are getting good looks in the games I've watched, but seem to be more than a bit off.  I'm with Tx - Barton must be shaking his head. 

I'd be interested in seeing what the stats for when Schweiger, Stafford, Williamson, Sepp, and Ajiboye are on the court together.  After not being in rotation for a few games, Sepp has really contributed into a starter.  Palm needs the same energy when he enters games now - defense and rebounding with intensity for every minute he is out there. 

This should be a good test of our VO2 Max, as Samford is number three in pace of play or possessions according to KenPom.  I think 9 is enough for their winning streak.  About time we play a good game on both offense and defense.  If we go 10 deep again, I'd like to see some defensive intensity with those coming off the bench.  Set the tone.

We need to fix the first five minutes of the game, and soon!

We just looked out of sorts the last five minutes, like their bodies were rejecting the slow down.  Keep the pace up.  Need to bring ball up against pressure better and find the mismatches quicker - there is always a mismatch when other team is trapping.

Along with football in 2025, next year they are adding a women's triathlon team.  I hope they compete in the the fall cause that lake be cold in the spring.

If you grow up going into Lake Michigan in late spring or summer, you later find out it was never warm.  Unless you are comparing southern most end to anywhere in Superior.

I think we'll be fine in this one. The biggest reason for our loss (Lottich) is NOT returning so we should be good.

I thought that with IUPUI and was hoping for more against CMU. 

We just need to get better each week.  Maybe we can also get healthy this week

A game we need to win.  Play to our potential.  We can play a full 40 minutes.

I mean, I get it.  At some point, there has to be a limit on the amount of schools that are at the top level.  It increases just about every year now.  As much as I don't like a potential breakaway, we've gone from around 315 D-1 schools when I was playing 20 years ago, to 363 in 2023. 

And 133 vice 115 in FBS football in 20 years.  And of that 363, only 261 have football. 

There has never been this high profile player available mid season..

If I were Tomlin, ready to graduate in a week or so, projected NBA Draft pick, and had come to the conclusion that I had erred enough to warrant my dismissal, I would take the spring semester getting ready for the draft.  Getting my head and body together, working with sports trainers and sports psychologists to better my draft value.  Use that NIL $$

If they are rolling in Vegas, is there any kind of betting line available?

Great resilience coming back from 22 down to within 3 with time running out.  It may take time, but we need to figure out the first 20 minutes at Illinois, first 25 against Drake, and the last 10 against CMU, and play 40 like that each game. 

How do we respond to two MVC losses and being on the road? An opportunity for a good road win. Who steps up when CMU is on a run?

We need to be better on the boards.

Not saying Connor Barrett will be the savior to the season, but no detailed report on his injury?. Was it that bad? Was he injured during the games he played or did he injury occur in a practice? This why he played so sparingly in the first two games?

I'm sure that Barrett and Manyang are progressing nicely.

My guess is that we don't get updates because it is a privacy issue.

My concern is that we have not seen Scroggins yet. Injury? Coaches decision?  Red shirt year?  If red shirt, why him and not Sepp?  I realize we may not get complete answers, but any nuggets of information is welcome
