wh - regarding talent, I disagree completely based on the rebounding numbers. Also in reality, Valpo has not been in almost every game, and this team has lost several in double figures. Powell will have a heads up in recruiting this year which he has not when he was hired. Despite a poor record, this team with limited talent and experience has improved compared to November. Honestly, they are progressing better than I thought!

Valpofamfan - DeVries is pretty good.  And we need more than a big man, we obviously need better overall talent, which will come. Valpo MBB is in the right direction and I like the attitude of the coaches and team.

I was at the game and the atmosphere at the Knapp Center was semi electric, including a student "Blue Out". I was impressed with Valpo's work ethic throughout. These guys are learning and I saw some positive stuff. Bradford played out of his mind and DeAreivo was penetrating better with control. This team will get better with better talent and Powell and his staff is proving to be solid for the long term.

Valpo can be successful in the MVC, it will take solid leadership and decision making on identify and carry out their strengths.  Valpo also has to acknowledge that continuous suckage is unacceptable and need to be stop being passive in decision making. Evans should have been dismissed weeks ago and this program is going through the motions to finish the season.

Combined record of both teams is an astounding 5-33. The bottom feeders of the MVC are brutally awful. With the investment spent on scholarships and the like, I would hope the athletic program is taking a hard look at this program. It is unacceptable.

Valpofb16 - as I have said previously,  a main reason Valpo has football is to bring in male students and rake in revenue.

Also, since Valpo is non scholarship and is run more like D3 than D1, facing FBS schools annually makes no sense.

One of many issues with DePaul. Their former AD was terrible and was in a different world.

it is incredible how DePaul has sunk so low, I am glad Stubblefield got canned, but the culture needs a complete enema.

And Valpo should consider this! I like the Des Moines uni as they smoked Evansville by 49.

Tjjvalpo - mentioning anything about the tournament  play in game is comedy. These guys are growing, and leave it at that.

At Valpo, Smith was a better player than a coach. His teams were not successful and not exciting to watch. I also understand that Valpo was taking the Kmart approach during his era. But he was a legend at Missouri Western, until they faced ... you know.

I am happy these guys got this win after a lot of struggling and learning and grit. Instead of an outlier, I hope and predict this win progresses into bigger and better things.

Chicago is a mess.

As promising it is to see the men's hoops team grow, the opposite is seen the women's hoop team. Lost by 24 to 3-9 team at home. Dr. Small must address this now, as it is depressing and embarrassing.
