Northern Indiana Normal School and Business Institute, the successor institution launched in 1873 by Henry Baker Brown, conducted classes from 6:30 a.m. (President Brown taught one at that hour) to 9:30 p.m.

I have a Valparaiso University Diploma (Teachers course of Study) to a Lotta Baker Hardy, Date 15 August 1896 Signed By Henry B Brown president. Mr. Brown had a long tenure at Valpo! Just an other Point in a long history but this Mr. Brown must have been an interesting person and so was(IS) this school.

Would be interesting to see this diploma.  Is it possible to take a picture or scan so that others can see?

A quick digital snap shot would do just fine if you have a camera.

That would be an important document for the archvist to have a copy or if only to observe.
