Campus Crusade for Christ is now simply "Cru".  It is interesting how various media are reporting it.  Some focus on the dropping of "Christ", while others focus on the dropping of "Crusade".

This is silly. Campus Crusade had been known as 'Cru' for a long time on campuses all over the country. It's simple marketing; why not officially go by the name that most students in the country already know you as.

Even when Campus Crusade came to Valpo back in 2003, the regional coordinator was referring to Campus Crusade as 'Cru', mostly as 'Cru' meetings, and that's where I feel the name makes sense. When students go to these meetings, they meet as a 'Cru' crusading for what Christ wants in the world, and on our college campuses. I see nothing wrong with having a more effective name, especially with students that know more about what the Crusades were about, and not wanting this campus group to lose membership because of a marketing strategy in naming that isn't currently effective.

Huh.  Campus Crusade for Christ is surely a mouthful.  I was never involved myself, but was good friends with some folks in the UIUC chapter back in the late 90's.  I don't remember what they called it!

I think I could definitely get behind a return to the Uhlan.
