right after the Samford game hits, Nolan boosts our RPI to 54 and the SOS to 266... not really a leap or a bound... but baby steps here and there help.

Come on Riverside... Ride the Wave !  [so Pepperdine is up 26-16 with 8 to play first half]

Undefeated?  No More Nevada... then there were 11  Texas Tech took an OT, 82-76

Still UnDefeated
Duke
Miami
Villanova

In tough games:

TCU up 5 with 12 to play
Texas A&M down 3 with 11 to play

Quote from: talksalot on December 05, 2017, 09:17:41 PM#253 Samford was up 64-62 with 15 seconds left, with a chance at their first Road win of the year, gave up layup, and dribbled the inbounds pass of their own foot.  Giving the tigers the ball, down 3 with 9.2 on the clock.  Give up an offensive rebound and foul on the put-back with 2.5 to go... to lose it 65-64

Man! If I was Coach Padgett I would have been crying myself to sleep in my King size bed. Of course he played for the Jazz, Rockets, Nets and Grizzlies from 99 to 07. He knew a lot about losing.

Looks like Ball State fans have Valpo in its crosshairs now. Coming off that road win its going to loud and rowdy.

I remember going to ball state for the game a few years ago and being really disappointed when we laid an egg there and got beat. Hope that doesn't happen again.

govalpogo

They are also giving us the W against Purdue!   ;D

A Kent State showing will definitely help but watching this game I see X blowing the doors off the Cimtas Center.

Halftime for Loyola at #5 Florida, and they looked very good leading by double digits most of the first half, but unfortunately their star guard, Custer, left with a bad ankle injury, and the lead has been cut to three. I hope Loyola pulls the upset, but I don't have a lot of confidence they can keep the lead in the second half without Custer.

ValpoDad89

While not teams we play, teams our opponents will play at least twice (Purdue and Northwestern)...Wisconsin loses to Temple 59-54 and Illinois losing at half to Austin Peay 28-26...and Illinois hasn't looked good at all this game in particular.

Loyola holds on to upset #5 Florida, 65-59. Great win for the Ramblers!

Nice win for Loyola. I'll be interested to see how Florida does the rest of the year. They've lost 3 straight now and play Cincinnati in cincy Saturday so its very likey they'll lose 4 straight. Maybe it was Loyola's defense but Florida didn't look very impressive.

Bad night for everyone else though. Yeesh.

Drake blown out by South Dakota
Illinois State getting run by BYU
Indiana State and Southern Illinois gave away games to North Texas and SLU.

At least the MVC got the big one that really mattered.

Big day tomorrow. In addition to our game against Purdue Northern Iowa plays UT-Arlington. A 2-0 night would be a huge statement for the league.

Florida's too dependent upon the 3 and their shooters have been in and out. They get their Center Egbunu back within a month and they may be a bit better when he's back. They have their 5th year transfer Egor from Rice playing underneath too much at 6'5"

Nontheless a good win for Loyola

ValpoDad89

On the flip side JD24, the Loyola win stands and Egbunu coming back makes them stronger going into their conference which will have a positive impact on that win and RPI / KenPom overall. It's up to Valpo to capitalize on that. Good showing against Purdue and beat NU and maybe we have an at large resume. A big IF and probably out of the realm of possibility but hopefully their win lite the MVC on the map.

Playing in this conference will only pay dividends as we would not have a conference win like that unless we took the bull by the horns.

I believe that UNI played UTA, not UTSA.  Makes it a better mid-major game.
