I know each recruiting situation is different, but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth we didn't make the top 7 and PFW did.

It is what it is. You need to take a look at the roster and see if their are guys before him on the roster. Kids typically want early playing time. Every kids recruitment and opinions are very different, but I don't think PFW is seriously a contender in his recruitment. This is a situation where he has built a strong relationship with one or two of their coaches and they have shown him a ton of love on the recruitment trail and him including them on his Top "7" is more or less a commiserate inclusion, in my opinion. I would be shocked if turned on Power Conference offers to play in the Summit League. I'd be even a little surprised if chose Loyola, but less so because they are a top Mid-Major program and have first class practice facilities. Loyola's new HC Drew Valentine is a really good recruiter. Reminds me a lot of Dana Ford (Missouri State) as a recruiter. Both of those guys are the best recruiters in the Conference.

I can think of five good reasons why we aren't on the list:  Cam, Sheldon, Keyondre, Kobe and Connor.  All playing the same spot with at least one year and up to three years of eligibility.  Splinters. If you are going to ride the pines, why not do it at a Power 5?  No way he ends up at PFW.

This is spot on.  With such a loaded roster, it's going to be difficult to get guys like this.

Has anyone heard about any recruit visits over homecoming weekend?

Pre-pandemic the Coaches typically brought recruits they really liked in for a visit on homecoming weekend. Curious, if anyone heard anything. They may have not brought recruits on campus for Homecoming this year.

Aren't we out of 2022 scholarships? If not how many do we have?

If you assume that Anderson and King both return for '22-'23 season, then all scholarships are taken.  That would be college year 7 and 6 for those guys, so even if eligible they could decide to move on.

Given the number of transfers, I'd expect the staff will continue recruiting 2022 kids in case some scholarships open up.

I think Trevor was a 5th year senior last year, which would make this his COVID do-over year, which means he's run the gamut.

That makes sense.  Thanks for clarifying!

That doesn't detract from your main point. There is every reason to think that dealing with transfers will be an ongoing annual event. Recruiting in the blind.

I also see he's following everything Valpo. Think about it.

I like the multi-sport athlete part.

It irks me that a tweet from a school has "you're" spelled "your."  I have learned to overlook such mistakes in most contexts, but from a school...

Just watched highlights of Max Nelson's first 4 games. Very impressive. Averaging 30 PPG, rains 3's from everywhere up to 5' beyond the arc, big leaper, 2-foot dunks, alley oops, gets out on the break. Rated 3 stars by Rivals.

We would be able to claim 3 Wisconsin Mr. Basketball players in the last 2 seasons.

Max Nelson, Appleton North H.S., continues to put up big numbers. Through 14 games:
- 25.6 PPG
- .547 FG%
- .647 2PTFG% (88-136)
- .423 3PTFG% (47-111)   In 5 of 15 games he attempted between 10-15 3's. He was 26 of 58 (45%). He can hit from anywhere and has a quick release.
- 11.2 RPG   Had double digit rebounds in 9 of 14 games. Had season high 16 rebounds on 2 occasions.
- Last year he was listed at 6-8/190. This year he's listed 6-8/210.
- He is currently the No.4 ranked player in WI. He is considered a serious candidate for Wisconsin's Mr. Basketball.

He has all the makings of yet another excellent addition to WI South basketball.

In their last game, the Appleton North Lightning lost 90-66 to the Kimberly Papermakers. Nelson had 35 of his team's 66 points

Two thoughts:
1. That is a lot of points for a 36 minute high school game (with no shot clock).
2. Papermakers!?!?!?
