I belive he was going to Europe and that is different. I think the key is whether he has contracted with an agent.

I don't think it works that way. He has to withdraw before the draft not after.

I don't think he ever intended on going to the NBA. It sounds like the plan was going pro in Europe.

Maravilla is his unofficial agent. He's his future client.

I think if Skara remained at Valpo he'd have about 60+ more games on tape as a starter to show European teams and he'd be signed with a team in Europe by right now. He played some big minutes for Clemson in Sweet 16. Oh well. I don't really want to rehash that whole situation.

So I had the day off and was walking through a nearby mall when a very large man in shades approached and walked by.  I was thinking "gee, that guy look s familiar".  So a couple of hundred yards later, it hit me "that was Roger Powell"!  So next I wondered..."what in the heck is Roger Powell doing in a suburb of Nashville?"  And then, a little later I remembered that he is here because he LIVES HERE!  Funny how the mind works sometimes...

That means he'll be playing against Dority right?

Assuming that Dority stays in the DBL.  He seems to have had a good season for the 8th place team (out of 10):

On July 15, 2017, Dority signed his first professional contract with the Den Helder Suns of the Dutch Basketball League (DBL).[2] The team acquired Dority as it was looking for a player with "experience and a strong appearance."[3] On 15 February 2018, Dority scored a season-high 33 points in a 85–83 win over BAL.[4] As the starting point guard of Den Helder, he finished the 2017–18 season with Den Helder in the eight place of the regular season. Dority averaged 14.5 points and 2.8 assists over 30 games

I'm not certain how to work this page, but for those wondering what happened to my brother, Bryan Bouchie....look me up on Facebook. I tried to post a link to my story, but it wouldn't allow it.
Bryan's story needs to be known.

Thank you very much for the powerful and moving testimony on the Facebook page about your brother Bryan. I always enjoyed watching Bryan the player on the court but of course could not know his personal and private difficulties. Your message about him and about addiction in general is appreciated. I am posting the links for you:

Its good for you to talk and it is good for us to listen. For the benefit of everyone you should keep up the conversation.

Each of us enjoyed watching Bryan battle during his 1 season at Valpo.  He was one of the best FR I have ever watched play for Valpo, and took a future NBA player to school in Jon Brockman.  We knew that he had some off-the-court issues, and very much respect your bravery for speaking out.

Perhaps this is an important story, as well as a topical issue of concern, that could be further developed delicately and productively disseminated in an article by Oren or Osipoff?

Just a guess but that would be that Carey Dawn Bouchie is Bryan's sister. Not really the point though.

A very powerful reminder of what a serious problem we have here in America.   :(

I'm not sure if it's the same league but Shane's Dad, Geert Hammink just took a position as the Head Coach of the Dutch Windmills plays in the Dutch Basketball League. So he might be playing against his father's team.

The answer is no. Shanes's team is in the Spanish league while Geert's team is, well, Dutch, in the DBL and called the Windmills. The only way they could be more Dutch is if their dates paid their own admission fee to games and wore wooden shoes.

VU2014

According to Wikipedia Donar and the Dutch Windmills both play in the DBL.

Sorry, I read the story about Shane incorrectly. I just re-read it and it does say that Donar is in the DBL in Holland. I misread Donar as being in the Spanish league. Thank you for your correction.

VULB#62

From the Sportando link in the original tweeted announcement:

"Dutch player Shane Hammink signs with Donar for 3 seasons. After Valparaiso (15.1 points,
three-pointers 33.1% and 2.5 assists) the shooting guard signed for two years
with RETAbet Bilbao Basket. After his first year (15.1 minutes, 3.9 points
and 0.7 assists) he decided to leave Spain
."

Ooops.  Just a micro-second too slow.

It looks like Vashil caught up with AP in Vegas the other day.

The guys in the instagram picture that Vashil is referring to does not include Alec Peters. I'm not sure who those guys are, maybe some Jamaican guys he knows, but not Alec.

vufan75

Vashil did indeed hang with AP. Scroll thru the Instagram pics in the link to I think it is picture #4.
