Todd mentioned, in one of the Union Street Hoops episodes, that Gordon can do it all and wondered why his years at Seton Hall weren't more productive.  Clearly Power 5 teams thought enough of him to offer scholarships, including IU, Purdue, Notre Dame, Arizona State and others.  I believe he is listed as a 2 so I'm wondering whether or not we see Javon sharing more point duties with Daniel with Ryan at the 4.  Obviously we don't know about Micah yet.  If he stays presumably he would see time at the 1 and if he goes it opens up a spot to pickup a guy like Lavender.

I totally forgot about Gordon.  Comes from a good family line of hoops.  He is sitting out due to transfer?  We are going to be good next year.

Yes.  He and Robinson will have two years of eligibility.

Robinson was billed as an extremely strong rebounder and intangibles guy who won't turn the ball over.  AKA - Everyone else plays better when he is on the floor.  Perhaps a Jurbril like guy more than a Golder like guy.  However, like Golder he is big and strong enough to play the 4 even if he is a little undersized at times.

My thinking-------A slightly shorter but equally versatile version of Hammink less some of the highlight dunks.

I watched a few games of st.joes last season and from what I can remember he wasn't as quick as Shane but he was significantly better handles. Solid shooter as well. His bread and butter was defense.

Here are some of his high school highlights:

I have to imagine that the heat is starting to slowly build on Bryce Drew at Vandy.  Lat night they lost 74-71 to South Carolina after leading by 10 at half and missing 13 free throws.  They now stand at 9-7 including a loss to Kent State and now losing 4 in a row in the SEC.  No help coming as they play 4 ranked teams next.  This is his third year.  His first year they were 19-16 and then 12-20 last year.

How much rope do they give Bruce??  ???

I mentioned this earlier and someone responded that he keeps recruiting top ranked players.

This is true but if they're gonna declare for the draft after one year it's not gonna mean as much without a winning season. Also, that level of recruit will dry up quick if they don't get the spotlight they need.

I'm not saying he can't turn it around or if he should be on the hot seat but he's getting a lot of money and the whispers about him not being able to handle a higher level of competition will start a lot sooner than they would at Valpo.

I mean our record has already had fans on here being skeptical about Lottich and my guess is a place like Vanderbilt is going to be a lot less patient internally and externally.

He has, and that's a problem.  In his three years (so far this season) he has landed 2 five stars (one out for season), 4 four stars and 3 three stars, including Scotty Pippins kid who is coming next year.  They are young--1 Sr., 3 Jr., 5 Soph., and 4 freshman.  As a result, I would think the AD would give him a chance to have a roster with just his recruits.  The only guy he didn't recruit is the lone senior.  Two more years of disappointments might be about it. I need to get over there and catch a game, might run into Homer!

Good for him.  If he can stay healthy, he will have a solid professional career.

4 years ago today a freshman named Tevonn Walker stoke the ball at the three point line, went 3/4 court, and dunked over Milwaukee's giant guy. That was a good day.

Stalin Ortiz still going strong as really the only good Colombian throughout the years!  It looks like Shawn Huff is still doing the same for Finland.  We have some cool representation on national teams around the world over the last 25 years.

Interesting that 2 of our 3 Finnish players won Finnish player MVP awards (both an Import and Finnish award each season) in the Finnish league over the last decade:

VUGrad, trust the process - man. Can't cheat the process. Just can't. And, besides - we've had a lot of injuries. And, laundry. And, these kids have to go to class! And, we've traveled a lot of miles! Give them a break.  :o
