Did Shelvin Mack forget that Butler has a football team?

"Just because we're labeled as a mid-major school, a lot of that comes from football. We don't have a football team, so that's why we get labeled as a mid-major," he said.

Just one problem with that statement: Butler actually does have a football program.

I could see a Valpo player forgetting Valpo has a football team (sorry, another dig at the football team) but Butler football was not nearly as forgetable.

embarrassing, to say the least.

They won the PFL Championship in 2009....how quickly they forget

I'm sure he meant that Butler does not have a Division I-A football program.

Likely, I'd say, as in "We don't have a football team that matters."

That would surely endear him to the football players!

I'd say "that matters" is pretty accurate. It's not like you're watching Butler football on TV, or any PL team for that matter.

*I am sure that didn't win him any points with the football team, but since the basketball team has generated them a whole truckload of money and marketing, I suspect they'll forgive him.
