the Phoenix of Elon next Sunday... are currently 0-8 (not including 2 non-d1 games) with a game at 1-9 Presbyterian on the 15th.  The ELON Net ranking is #352 and RPI is 360 (out of 363 schools ranked).

The "Community Game" on December 21st is Stonehill Skyhawks.  3-7; RPI 189, NET 270.  They are at Boston College and at Bradley before coming to the ARC.

This has been fun to keep up with the Valley... and actually... interesting to see that we are not the only team struggling to find our niche.   Indiana State losing at Southern Indiana, for example.

Today (Saturday 12/17) there are 5 games for the valley teams... and we are not favored to win any of them.  Indiana State at Duquesne is a pick'em game and we are the underdogs in the other four.

so yesterday, we go 1-4...with UNI picking up the unexpected win... and Duquesne winning the pickem game at home.

Today... the Valley is favored in 3 of the 4 games.. Vegas is looking for a 73-64 Valpo win today...with the o/u at 137.  Hope UIC is not looking ahead to their game on Tuesday at Welsh-Ryan.

I Think Drake made a statement today... 124-48 over St. Ambrose.  The Bulldogs had 59 at halftime...and scored 65 after the break.  12 players played at least 12 minutes only 2 players played more than 20.

At the close of non-conference play, Valpo has slipped to #313 in today's NET ranking, and is not only last in the MVC but also the only MVC team in the 300s since Evansville has moved into the 200s. Fortunately, with IUPUI ranked #360, Valpo does not fall to last among the 11 Indiana schools but remains behind Purdue, IU, ND, Butler, ISU, Ball St, USI, PFW, and Evansville. Valpo resumes conference play next week at Drake, the top-ranked MVC team. Merry Christmas!
