Title: Chris Lowery
Post by: tiny707 on March 23, 2023, 07:21:25 PM
This would be a good hire. Played at Evansville, head coach at SIU, assistant at Illinois, Kansas and currently Northwestern. Matt could take his place at Northwestern.

He was named ACOY this year at Northwestern, another private in the same metro area who is probably the most disadvantaged school in their conference.

He's had both success (S16, 3 NCAAs) and failure as a head coach, but that failure was 12 years ago in his 30s. He's had a lot of time to learn from it.

I think he'd be a very good hire. He's had massive success in this league before and I think he's learned from his mistakes.

Look at who was at SIU before him.

He took over for Matt Painter who took over for Bruce Weber. He inherited the most talented Valley roster in probably 25 years.

It's not shocking that his first 3 years were amazing, and once it was actually his roster it fell apart. I get you all weren't paying attention to the Valley at that point, but he was an actual disaster as a HC when he actually had to do something more than keep the train headed straight.

You have better options to go after. He's a great assistant, not much of a head guy.

Sounds a bit like Lottich. Great guy just not a winning basketball head coach.

Haven't seen much on his faith status? Maybe he has to tone it down at Northwestern?

He's worked at SIU, KSU, & Northwestern, so his faith is probably unknown to the public.

Yes, but he is from Evansville like Don Mattingly, manager of the Blue Jays. He must have gotten his vaccines, really? Everybody from Southern Indiana knows vaccines are harmful.

How can we hire a head coach that graduated from William Henry Harrison HS in Evansville?  President WHH didn't make it a month past his inaugural address.

Lord, can it get any worse?
