Symmes has a fascinating resume. QB work with stops at Duke, Florida, IU and South Carolina, then the Steelers. The only odd ball was his last stop at ECU as a defensive analyst.

I, too, am excited about the publicity Valpo will likely receive from the 25th anniversary of "The Shot." That said, I'm wondering how the positive publicity Valpo will receive from "The Shot" will be contextualized. Wouldn't it make sense for context-sake that "The Shot" be discussed in leiu of where Valpo is located ... what it's known for ... and where the program is now? If so, will they explain the mascot change? The fact that ML took over after Bryce left and the post-Drew era is one curently in ... shambles? Yikes. I suppose they'll look for a positive spin since this is supposed to be a heartfelt story but .. the Cindarella story isn't currently projecting toward a "Happily ever After" sort of ending ...

I bet you are a blast at parties.

Wh, very good analysis.

For Krikke, who has been loyal and played admirably, for his sake I hope he transfers to a better program next year to elevate his game. Staying here has no benefit if he wants to improve his game, especially given the lack of commitment to the basketball program.
First off, what analysis? He compiled a list of everybody available. That is some deep stuff. Secondly you hope our best player transfers, now that is a real fan.

I watched the game. Ugh! Interestingly enough, both our men's and women's teams lost two extremely close regular season games to a team that blew them out in the first round of tournament play.  Why? Because their coaches coach, made adjustments learned and their team actually implemented those changes to exploit our obvious weaknesses. Out rebounded by 15, limited our three point opportunities etc. etc.

Evans at least can point to a very young team with some talent and a little size arriving from recruits.  I think one more year for her unless she had a five year deal that just ended.  Then a serious discussion needs to be had.
At least two games this year with 0 offensive rebounds which is unheard of. We really aren't young as we played 3 seniors and 4 junior's significant minutes.  Brown didn't go thru senior night indicating she could be back. Sadly adding wings that are 5-11 and 6-0 is our definition of adding size.
The last 3 seasons are at Dorow level and that is scary.

James Gilbert will be RB coach, went to camp with Rams, former Kansas State and Ball State RB
That was quick, he is now a grad assistant at Purdue.

Big news on Daugherty and Lutgens who have been with Fox for a while. Would guess Ghilarducci stays on to be Defensive Coordinator with Fox? At least the defense and recruiting should stay the same between those 2
Daughtery going to UIndy. A move to a good D2 program that is rumored to be considering the OVC.

Confirmed Fleming is gone.

My first call would be to Cory Colder
Fleming is heading to Lamar. Back to scholarship FCS. Lamar was one of the worst teams in FCS last year

Wondered how long he'd stay. Shoot, scholarship FCS URI, BC in the ACC, then ....... little ole Valpo?

TOTAL OFFENSIVE STAFF REBUILD  :(

It seems like Fox adds staff knowing they will jump and must be ok with it. The 2 defensive guys don't fall into that but many do.

You knew he was a rental but when his wife's sister transferred in to the basketball program I thought we might buy a few years

With the exception of the OC a complete offensive coach turnover. Interestingly our current TE Coach still lists himself at Valpo. No one has been named RB coach. I assumed Johnson was a one year rental and would be back in the USFL.

Must give kudos with 2 wins this weekend. ISU and UE aren't great but when you only have 4 wins you take any you can get. Interestingly the lineup was changed and our top 2 players are now coming off the bench.

Unfortunately this team might be headed to the worst record in history(since they started playing similar number of games to the men's). Evans has had 1 winning season which to be fair is the only one in 14 years. That team was made up of mostly Dorow recruits. As they have left, so have the wins. I stopped after the top 6 teams in the conference but they all have 2-4 players 6-2 to 6-5, most play 2-3 regularly. We have none and have never recruited one with this staff. Could our system work? Maybe but we haven't shown that as very possible. Time for a change.

Softball will struggle big time. Stake had winning seasons in 2017 and 2018. By the time she left we were down to 6 wins. Last years coach won 13 and had 9 recruits when she bolted for ND. Only 4 recruits stayed. One of the losses was a COVID senior from DePauw who was 24-2 with a 1.14 ERA.  Honestly if we win in double digits it will be a surprise.

Usually there is an article for NSD but nothing. Was the day so poor that they don't want to talk about it?
Just checked 3, Butler has announced 17, Dayton and Drake have not announced yet.

I have no confidence that we will play well tonight and that has kept me at home again. I don't think that anything can change my negativity without a near complete program overhaul. I don't always properly recognize talent and potential but I can recognize failure.
This post aged well. I don't always recognize prediction ability but I can recognize a "true fan".

34 in before Feb 1. Good job to staff. Figured about 40-45 new comers this wall year. Few surprises on signing day per usual and summer xfers

Excellent job so far, grabbed a 2nd QB! Add a P and K maybe another WR or LB and that will be some class.

Class up to 26 a few weeks before signing day, including xfers. Very large refocus on the Midwest. Still in need of QBs and WRs

I know they had a QB visit recently. It is a tough one with 2 young QB's returning. However you walk in as #3 on the depth chart.

Is our Punter coming back? We certainly Ned a kicker.
