It turns out that about half of the players are not in demand in the market. Is it their level so low or does the league have high demands?

After seeing what Saint Peter's has accomplished this weekend, I cannot help but think how ironic it is that the tournament is trademarked as "March Madness" - but all of the TV emphasis is on the major schools. The tournament became "madness" because each year a few little schools upset major opponents despite having budgets that are a small fraction of the budget of major schools. Saint Peter's total annual athletic budget is $7.5M, which is less than John Calpari's annual salary. That truly is madness.

This proves once again that money is not everything in sports. No matter what the salary is, it is often grossly overpaid. And teams with low budgets will continue to surprise, because they want to win

The MVC saw its stars escape already with the double jumps upward by Butler and then Loyola.  The other MVC schools are solid.  I don't see any schools in the MVC bringing a high impact money deal to any other conference that occasionally (though rarely) gets two bids. Those two seem to be exceptions.  They won't dominate or even be frequent champs in their new conferences, but they made smart moves.

There are no high-money deals because it's unprofitable in most cases.

Winning matters and breeds confidence for the conference season, so scheduling as we did was very smart, with the amount of key graduations we had.  We are also in the race for the top here at 17-2 (5-2)!

The excitement is very strong! So many wins - it's amazing! And it really inspires confidence, that's why wins are important.

What about them this year? Is the offense or defense better? As far as I'm concerned, there's not much difference.

Samford is a good get....22-11 last year and won two games on the road against Power 6 opponents. Even better to get a home and home.

Samford looks good, but they could try harder.
