Instead of holding the tournament I think it would be cool to go into the archives and the vault and show the greatest upsets\improbable runs and the greatest moments in the history of the sport one after the other for weeks on end until we run out of worthy candidates (including conference tournaments). This would remind the world (and maybe the selection committee for future tournaments) what the tournament is really about. UPSETS! Cinderella runs! pulse pounding action! Thrilling comebacks! Buzzer beaters! This would be an awesome love letter to the sport in this difficult time! It won't happen but it's a good idea and I can thank Father Harry the MVC Insider for the inspiration for this!

I'd rather watch movies like "Idiocracy" or "LOTR"!!!

That's it and that's all... The tournament and all winter\ Spring sports championships are cancelled... It's the right thing to do...

I did a quick google and found 51 basketball movies. I think that could fill the rest of March pretty well.

No March Madness...baby boom in December.  ::)

Plenty of March Madness.......just a different kind. ::)

At least we finished off the Basketball season on a relative high with Arch Madness. Such a fun time and good final for the season that other programs never had a chance to experience.

NBA should scrap the rest of season and come back (whenever) with an all team playoff format -- play-in games for lottery teams and then best of 3s and best of 5s.

Unfortunately, NCAA has no options now, could not come back later, but an all schools tourney to start next season would be really fun.

Guess participation trophies for everyone.   :(

FYI, Harry Schroeder is also pastor, with his wife, of Southgate Church in Crestwood, a suburb of the Lou. He certainly has a great speaking & broadcasting voice.

There is talk today of granting another year of eligibility to student-athletes in Spring sports (I think that they sort of have to). This would include temporarily increasing the number of allowed scholarships.

What would everyone here think of allowing another year of eligibility for student-athletes in winter sports? (including basketball, but also hockey, etc.)

M

No, it's a ridiculous thought to give winter athletes another whole year when the majority of seniors had maybe 1 game left.

how's about all of the guys who scheduled their vasectomy for round one of the tournament?  they'll be at home watching soap operas.

Is tomorrow non-selection Sunday? Well desperate men do desperate things so I just signed up for a cover crop online seminar. You are never too old to sleep through new ideas.  :snore:
