The Men's team has a shot at winning the Valley Tournament this year as they have been picked second in the pre-season poll.

Adding to that fact is the great performance in Arizona where they finished second in a tournament they hosted.  The Medalist was Valpo's own Caleb VanArragon who shot 5 under and beat guy's from Arizona and Arizona State, who is ranked #4 in the country. The runner-up from Arizona State had been ranked as high as #24 in the world amateur rankings.  Great performance Caleb!!

Last August, I played in the outing that the golf program hosts at their home course in Chesterton. Great coaches who are very passionate about the program. The members of the team that I met (played with one of them) seem really great and are far better golfers than I ever was (and yes I did play on the team at Valpo).

Second, first, and second in the last three events. Latest event was in Ohio and the final round yesterday was snowed out.

Valpo finished second in the MVC tournament, 17 shots behind Southern Illinois.

But here is the big story...Anthony Delasanti birdied six of the last eight holes to shoot 30 on the back side and win the individual title by one stroke.

Anthony Delisanti finished 15th in the NCAA regional (in a 75 player field). In the selection for that regional, he was the last of 10 players selected for individual play. In the regional, he beat eight of the other nine players selected for individual play. Great showing.
