Whatever happened to the 2 pitchers from last year's team who were drafted or free agent signed by Detroit?

Per BaseballReference.com

Montana Quigley played for Great Falls, MT (ironic), which is independent, in 2022. 4-0 with 11 saves and a 4.01 ERA. No stats listed for 2023

Jake Miller plays with Lakeland in the Tigers' system. 2022: 0-3 with an 8.59 ERA; 2023: 1-1 with a 14.40 ERA.

https://www.baseballamerica.com/teams/10105/lakeland-flying-tigers/schedule/

On May 10 Jake Miller took the loss against the Bradenton Marauders 16-3 but on May 17 Jake Miller won his first game of the season over the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels 7-1. Probably had a bad performance that inflated his ERA on the 10th but did much better on the 17th allowing only 1 run.

May 10, 5:30 PM   @ Bradenton Marauders   L 3-16   Carlos Lomeli   Jake Miller (winning pitcher, losing pitcher)

May 17, 5:30 PM   vs. Fort Myers Mighty Mussels   W 7-1   Jake Miller   Develson Aria (winning pitcher, losing pitcher)

Colin Fields signed with Detroit last summer and has been assigned to the Florida Complex League Tigers.  I believe the FCL starts play on 5 June.

This is a great site to see current and former pro players from Valpo.  Kapers is doing well for AA Frisco in the Rangers org!

Unfortunately, Valpo drops a 10-9 game to Belmont to end their season as well as end all Valpo athletic event till the fall.  An improved baseball team hit with lots of key injuries and lack of pitching. Still, their entire starting lineup will be back if, and its a big if, Ryan Maka isn't drafted.  The kid is the real deal.
Season Results: CBI/CIT: 2008, 2011, 2014  NIT: 2003,2012, 2016(Championship Game) 2017   NCAA: 1962,1966,1967,1969,1973,1996,1997,1998 (Sweet Sixteen),1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2013 and 2015

Maka will not be drafted this year - he's only a sophomore and you have to finish your junior year to be eligible.

My goto source for data like this is baseball-reference.com. They have similar sites for all other major sports, including college football and basketball (https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/.

Congratulations to Indiana State who beat Iowa yesterday and are unbeaten in their Regional.

Indiana State has become a legit program over the last few years.  Missouri State is usually up there, as well, but didn't have their same success this season.  DBU is now in Conference USA for Baseball, otherwise there would have been another top team in the MVC.

They beat them again yesterday to win the region and on to the Super Regionals!  One of only 16 teams still playing!

Oru to the college world series in Omaha.  They were always baseball powers in the mid con but to make it to the World Series, wow!
CRUSADERS!!!

Yes, ORU was consistently ranked in the top 25 when I was playing.  Congrats to them, even though I still hate them :).

Take note, decision makers for the Valpo HoF, in my yearly suggestion of our former Mid-Con Pitcher of the Year and 2x First Team All Mid-Con, in a conference that was dominated each year by ORU ;).

It's not just basketball. Nolan Tucker is headed to Southern Mississippi.  :(

Good player, but didn't have the same season this year as he did in his amazing RS FR campaign.  Hopefully he elevates and goes somewhere in his baseball career, as you don't go to Southern Miss for the academics.

Southern Mississippi University

Founded on March 30, 1910, the university is a dual campus institution, with its main campus located in Hattiesburg and its other large campus – Gulf Park – located in Long Beach. It has five additional teaching and research sites, including the John C. Stennis Space Center and the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory (GCRL).

It does have one of only 5 space center research centers in the country.
